Since 2021, rent increases have far outpaced income growth, leading to an 18% rise in veterans needing urgent help. These veterans, who have already given so much, are facing a tough reality—one that many of us don’t often see. Your support helps keep them housed, fed, and secure. The need is urgent, and every bit of help ensures they don’t have to face homelessness alone. Let’s make a difference, today and every day. 🌐 nvhs.org/warmfullsafe/ #GiveBack #EndHomelessness #SupportOurTroops

Rescuing Veterans Lost in America
About us
At NVHS, we believe that no veteran should be left behind on the streets. That’s why we have been working tirelessly since 2008 to provide help for homeless and at-risk veterans and their families with the support they need to secure a stable and dignified life. Here are some of our achievements and services: - We have reduced the homeless veteran population in Brevard County by 90%, from 1,800 in 2008 to less than 200 in 2023. - We provided street outreach, prevention case management, and transitional housing to over 400 veterans and their families in the last 12 months. - We have received a Gold Star rating on GuideStar and a 4 Star rating on Charity Navigator for our fiscal responsibility and transparency. We are proud of the work we have done, but we know there is still more to do. The rising cost of living and inflation in our area puts many low-income veterans and their families at risk of homelessness every day. We need your help to ensure that we never go back to a situation like 2008. Join us today and make a difference in the lives of our heroes.

Meet Bill Breyer, a U.S. Army veteran and dedicated NVHS volunteer since 2009. Inspired by a photo of George Taylor Sr. helping a homeless veteran, Bill joined our mission and has made a difference ever since. Each week, he supports veterans at the Holy Name of Jesus, St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry, helping them transition to stable housing. Bill is just one of the amazing volunteers who make our work possible. Interested in joining the team? Visit 🌐 nvhs.org/get-involved/ to learn more! #VolunteerWork #HelpingOthers

🍂 This Thanksgiving, we proudly served local veterans by providing warm, hearty meals as a token of our gratitude for their service. A huge shout-out to the Brevard County Supervisor of Elections Office for donating all the rolls, and to the Brevard County Tax Collector’s Office for donating and preparing the pies! Our mission to support our veterans doesn't stop here. There’s still time to make a difference in the lives of those who’ve given so much. 🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Lou Napolitano 🌟 Since 2008, Lou Napolitano has been a cornerstone of NVHS, bringing his unwavering dedication and passion to our mission. A former New York Police Officer in the 1970s, Lou served his community with honor until a diagnosis of MS forced him to resign. Although his dream of military service wasn’t realized, Lou’s life has been defined by his commitment to public service and giving back in extraordinary ways. 💪🇺🇸 From hosting golf tournaments and poker runs to securing auction items for our Annual Rescuing Veterans Lost in America Dinner, Lou’s efforts have directly impacted countless veterans. He’s even been known to serenade us with karaoke at our Warm Full Safe Christmas parties! 🎤🎶 Lou’s selflessness, resilience, and commitment to our community remind us all what it means to truly serve. Thank you, Lou, for being an irreplaceable part of the NVHS family! ❤️👏 #VolunteerSpotlight #ThankYouLou #NVHS #SupportingVeterans #MakingADifference
