  • Happy National Bird Day! 🦜🦉 The team at NVA’s St. Johns Veterinary Hospital found a baby bird that had fallen from its nest into their parking lot. After determining it was okay, they tried to put it back, but their ladder wasn’t tall enough. The local fire department came to their rescue and safely reunited the bird with its mom. “Momma bird has been chirping with joy!” said the team. • After a homeless mama-to-be arrived on the doorstep of NVA’s Park West Veterinary Associates, the team rallied and helped bring her 11 healthy puppies into the world. ✨🐶 Twinkles was found wandering the town by a good Samaritan who suspected she may be pregnant. For two weeks, they attempted to catch her to get her the right care and managed to just in time before she went into labor. After 12 hours with no puppies, the person caring for her brought her to Park West Vet. Unable to afford the emergency C-section she needed, the community stepped in to help. Donations flooded in, covering the full cost of her surgery. While the Park West veterinarians were initially concerned that the puppies might not survive, thanks to the dedicated team at Park West, Twinkles successfully gave birth to 11 healthy pups. All of them already have homes to go to once they're old enough. Plus, the donations left a $1,000 credit for Twinkles, which will go toward her additional care. “I've been with Park West Vet for 16 years and it was arguably the best day I've worked there,” said Hospital Manager Marian Rowland. “We all ended up in tears and I definitely felt the gravity of our jobs that day ❤️” 🎥: NVA’s Park West Veterinary Associates in Mount Pleasant, SC . . . #NVACommunity

  • The NVA Heroes at Asheville Veterinary Associates (AVA) West saved a rescue kitten with a rare and life-threatening tumor.    When Hurricane Helene swept through #Asheville this year, it destroyed the city. However, the team at AVA West remained determined to be there for their #community. Between power outages, repairs, and road closures, they opened their doors on days they could to care for animals in need.    After a stray feline arrived on their doorstep, she unexpectedly gave birth to six kittens. The smallest among them – which they named #Stromboli – was born with an unusual abscess on his face that threatened to displace his eye.    As Dr. Brad Goff attempted to surgically remove it, he realized it was much worse, a very rare, fast-growing #teratoma unlike anything he’d seen. A week later, it was as large as Stromboli’s head.    Partnering with Ethos Veterinary Health’s South Asheville Veterinary Emergency & Specialty (SAVES), Dr. Meredith Kapler performed the complicated medical procedure against all odds.    Today, Stromboli is healthy and happy, living his best life with his new mom, Practice Manager Tracey Goff, who brings him to work daily.    “Patients like Stromboli rarely live because people rarely take a chance on them,” said Tracey. “Not us. Our team gives forgotten animals that chance. Sometimes we don’t win. But every time we look at Stromboli, we’re reminded that, together, we sometimes do.”    📸: NVA’s Asheville Veterinary Associates West in Asheville, NC .  .  . #NVACommunity #AnimalHospital #VetMed #VeterinaryMedicine #AnimalCare #PetCare #Cat #Cats #Kitten

  • It’s our favorite holiday tradition: NVA’s Best-Dressed Pet Contest! 🎄🐾 As part of our year-end celebration, our Support Center teammates shared photos of their pets in their holiday fashions to compete for the coveted title and a grand prize that included a donation to their favorite animal welfare organization!     Meet our 6 finalists who brought the holiday cheer in style, and join us in congratulating Leia and her mom, Ana, Strategic Sourcing Manager, for taking home this year’s trophy!    😼 Meet Leia, a 4-year-old feline. She looks innocent, but don’t let the outfit fool you. This year, she’s been more naughty than nice – breaking into closets, cabinets, and bags of treats. She doesn’t care if naughty cats don’t get presents. She’ll just open yours. (Pet parent: Ana Violette, Strategic Sourcing Manager)    ✨ This is Oakley. He’s a 5-year-old Dalmation-Pittie Mix who’s obsessed with the holidays. His favorite toy is this candy cane. Once the antlers are on, he bounces around the yard. For him, holiday fashion isn’t a choice; it’s a lifestyle. (Pet parent: Alexandria Dean, Client Service Representative at NVA’s Call Service Center)    🦌 Say hello to Archibald and Eleanor - or should we call them “ween-deers”? In these chic, sparkly antlers, who can tell? Always together, this dynamic duo couldn’t be more different. While Archie embraces festive fashions, Eleanor’s side-eye says she’s not here to make friends, just look good. (Pet parent: Madison G., Recruiting Sourcer)    💚 Meet Pride, a 1-year-old Rottweiler in Grinch-patterned pajamas. Like the Grinch’s loyal dog Max, this big lug is a love bug. He loves to cuddle, remind you you’re amazing, and while he’d never think of stealing Christmas, he may steal your heart. (Pet parent: Adrienne Coronado, DVM, MS, Medical Success Sr. Manager)      👑 Behold Baxter. This 9-year-old Miniature Pinscher expects nothing less than luxury. He demands a cushion between him and the floor at all times. This winter coat is just for show; he’ll accompany you outdoors, but only if carried on a heated velvet throne. (Pet parent: Matthew Amerosa, Vendor Contract Performance Manager)    🎅 And finally, say hello to Daisy, a 1-year-old Chihuahua-Terrier. While dressed as an elf, you’ll never find her on the shelf. When she’s not keeping her mom’s lap warm, she’s quite busy, perched near the window, ready to alert the neighborhood of squirrels and squirrel-related threats. (Pet parent: Sharron Martinez, Accounts Payable Supervisor)    Wishing you all a season full of joy, laughter and stylish pets! ❤️  .  .  .   #PetFashion #HolidayPets #BestDressedPet #NVACommunity #Holiday #Pet #Pets #PetStyle #Cat #Dog

  • At NVA, our veterinarians aren’t just heroes in their clinics; they’re also champions in their communities. At Ironwood Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Nicole Hartman and team joined forces with the Humane Society of Yuma for a two-day spay-a-thon during peak kitten season to help solve the local cat crowding crisis. Together they helped spay and neuter 340+ cats. 🐱💙    “Dr. Hartman’s unwavering dedication and compassion is truly inspiring,” said Victoria Ruiz, Hospital Manager at NVA’s Ironwood Veterinary Clinic, who also volunteered at the event. “We’re so grateful for her service to Ironwood and the community beyond.”    Ready to make a lasting impact in your community?
