The Arab American Bar Association of Illinois has partnered with Arab American Family Services (AAFS) for another Thanksgiving Dinner Drive this year. Thank you to all of our sponsors and donors so far! Donations can be sent online through PayPal/Zelle directly to AABAR by using bar@arabbar.org. Please send all donations by Friday, November 22nd. We are still working toward our goal of purchasing Thanksgiving dinners for over 150 families. Each meal will include a turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing, bread/rolls, cornbread mix, mashed potatoes, and more as we work to provide for these families at the start of the holiday season. Without your kindness and generosity, there are families in our community who will not have a full meal on Thanksgiving. That's why we invite you to join us in this effort to raise funds that will allow us to purchase and distribute Thanksgiving dinner to families in the Chicagoland community. We ask that you share this fundraiser, flyer, and message with anyone you can! To learn more about AAFS, click here: AAFS's Mission and Programs share this flyer with your family, friends, schools, businesses, and law firms! Thank you for your generosity!

It is with a heavy heart that we announce our 3rd Annual Gala will be rescheduled due to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East. When we first planned this event, we were hopeful that the situation would improve. However, nearly a year after last year’s gala, where we paused to call for a ceasefire and observed a moment of silence, the region remains in turmoil. Given the gravity of these circumstances, along with the impact on many of our community members, we feel it is not the right time to celebrate. Instead, we choose to stand in solidarity with those affected. We hope that you will join us when the event is rescheduled. With that being said, we are pleased to share that we will still be awarding scholarships as planned. The winners will be announced online, and we hope to celebrate these deserving students in person when it is appropriate to gather again. We will be contacting sponsors and ticketholders with further updates soon. We greatly appreciate your patience, support, and understanding during these difficult times. We will provide more information about the new date to all members as soon as it is confirmed. Thank you for your understanding and continued commitment to NAABA-MI. We will keep you informed with further updates and look forward to coming together in the future.

Tuesday's Senate hearing on hate crimes was nothing short of a disgrace. Rather than confronting anti-Arab, anti-Palestinian and anti-Muslim hate, senators like John Kennedy chose to perpetuate it. NAABA, alongside our co-sponsoring bar associations, stand in support of Maya Berry and demand accountability for Senator Kennedy's conduct. Read our full statement below.
