Kickoff Highlights for the Morning The 7th Annual Renewable Energy & Sustainability Conference kicks off with an exciting start! 8:30 - 8:45 AM: The morning program begins with Chance Rush (Hidatsa, Arapaho, Dakota, Oneida, Otoe) from Cloudboy Consulting, LLC, leading an inspiring Opening Prayer and guiding the facilitation. Special welcomes by Miss Florida Seminole, CeCe Thomas, and Jr. Miss Florida Seminole, Violet Osceola, set the stage for a day of collaboration and learning. 8:45 - 9:30 AM: The spotlight shines on Harvey Rambarath as he addresses the pivotal question, “To BESS or Not to BESS,” exploring resiliency and innovation in energy planning. 9:30 - 10:15 AM: The discussion continues with Michelle Holiday (Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma) and Katherine Cole, who dive into strategies for Developing Engagement Plans for Clean Energy Projects, focusing on relationship-building and effective project planning. Today and tomorrow the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Native Learning Center is honored to provide our training on Purchasing Fundamentals and Federal Grant Requirements for the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation in Nespelem, Washington. This comprehensive training led by Vince Franco, Next Venture Consulting, equips participants with the essential knowledge and skills required to navigate the purchasing process while adhering to the federal regulations of the OMB - Office of Management and Budget’s Uniform Guidance - 2 CFR Part 200 (Super Circular). Participants will gain a solid understanding of fiscal management principles along with audit requirements, how to establish proper record retention and protection protocols for personally identifiable information, as well as property and other assets. Many thanks to Kyle Doney, our Deputy Executive Director, for facilitating this amazing training!
