Professor at North Dakota State University

Congratulations, Lennel Camuy-Velez on being selected as an Ambassador of the National Microbiome Data Initiative. The Ambassador Program uses a cohort-based learning approach to train and support early career researchers motivated to engage with their respective microbiome research communities and spread awareness and knowledge regarding data stewardship, metadata standards, and standardized bioinformatics workflows. Lennel is on the final lap of his microbiology PhD at NDSU. Working under the mentorship of Dr Sam Banerjee, he studies the mechanisms by which invasive plant species recruit microbes.
