It's officially been a year since I started my own business... (and it hasn't been easy) Work/Life balance does not really exist in starting your own business. You wear all the hats: ✴️ Founder ✴️ Marketing ✴️ Administration ✴️ Finance ✴️ Operations ✴️ Sales ✴️ Technology/ IT Half the time my brain is screaming "I'M FAILING"; the other half of me knows that I am responsible for all of my successes as well! ✅ I secured all my leads ✅ I onboarded my clients ✅ I paid all my bills ✅ I created my opportunities Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. It's an uphill battle; it's waking up and fighting for what you want, knowing when to rest, but never calling it quits! So here's to another year of small wins, and learning from each failure! #smallbusinessowner #businessowner #entrepreneur #entrepreneurship ***Manifesting this: One day this won't just be a keepsake from a CES pop-up! It will be the real deal! 🤔

The world is noise, and it's time to invest in good noise cancellation headphones. But it's also time for offices to start allowing workers to listen to music as well! A study published in the journal of Applied Ergonomics found that background music increased the efficiency of repetitive tasks. One of their experiments found that music increased productivity by 7.4%. Music is also known to boost mood, which an in turn increase productivity! The more you know 🎧 #productivity #productivityboost #productivitytips

"The world is noisy, invest in good noise cancellation headphones." (best advice I’ve ever heard) Working from home as a neurodivergent individual, I've come to realize the amount of distractions that can shatter my hyper-focus. It's not just the landscapers making their rounds with leaf blowers or the neighbor who seems to save all his loud phone arguments for the bench across my house. It's about preserving that precious bubble of concentration that's so hard to come by and so easy to lose. Noise cancellation headphones have become a necessity. But it doesn't stop there. Here’s how I create a focus-friendly environment: → 𝘾𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙤𝙧 to minimize interruptions. → 𝙇𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙤𝙛𝙞 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙘 to set a calm, productive atmosphere. → 𝙇𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙤𝙢𝙤𝙙𝙤𝙧𝙤 𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙞𝙦𝙪𝙚 to break work into manageable intervals. → 𝙐𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙗𝙡𝙤𝙘𝙠𝙨 to dedicate specific hours to focused work. These strategies aren't just about blocking out sound; they're about creating an environment where your neurodivergent brain can thrive. They help channel your focus into what truly matters, turning potential frustrations into productivity. It's not just about finding quiet. It's about finding your focus, your zone, where you do your best work. And sometimes, all it takes is the right pair of headphones to turn down the noise of the world and tune into the harmony of your thoughts. What strategies do you use to maintain focus in a world that never seems to quiet down? #neurodivergent #neurodiversity #neurodiversityat #neurodiversityinbusiness #productivitytips #noisecancellation

Our CEO took to the #CES2024 floor -- connecting with amazing business owners, innovators and thought leaders. Here was one of her takeaways: TAKE UP SPACE! Tech, and even business, are largely dominated by MEN. And it's not only time for us to take a seat at the table, but also the respect, power, and influence to have impact!

“Women Walk the Floor” with The Female Quotient at #CES2024 was badass, empowering, and impactful. 500 women taking to the CES floor, the largest tech conference of the year — being loud, proud, and visible. But, a seat at a table isn’t enough, unless we have the respect, power, and influence to make a difference! The world of tech, and even business, is largely dominated by MEN! And, “According to the World Economic Forum, it’ll take another 131 years to close the gender gap.” 131 YEARS!?! Being a fly on the wall, listening in on crucial conversations in the Equality Lounges®, and also experiencing it with a business badass like Swan Sit, taught me a few things about myself: 1) Stop being so humble — we deserve to take up space 2) You will never be 100% prepared — so do it anyway!  3) Learn from those before you — if you’re the smartest person in the room, find a different room I’ve officially made it through my first year as a business owner, and it’s not as easy as they make it sound. Last year was full of learning opportunities. As I continue to grow my business this, I want to empower and uplift the women around me! Comment below if you’re a proud female-owned business, and let me know how I can support you. #CES2024 #CES #womenintech #marketer #marketers #marketing

Our CEO’s loss brought about something unexpected – purpose and direction for NeatlyReckless! See how in Dominique’s post below!

My grandpa was probably the coolest cat to have ever lived! A brave veteran, Chicagoan through and through, a lover of stogies, and a giver of laughter. When he passed last year, we were devastated. Life is finite and you don’t have as much time with the people you love as you may think. Yet, in the midst of this heartbreak, I found something unexpected — purpose and direction for my business. Creating his memorial video was a cathartic process, and allowed me to give him the send off he deserved. We filled the room with a celebration of his life, a blend of tears and laughter. The final touch, a video of his warm smile, brought a sense of peace and closure. This experience sparked a desire to offer the same solace to others in their moments of profound loss. I realized the best way to have the greatest impact was by collaborating with those who stand at the forefront of compassion – funeral homes. My mission is to be a compassionate ally, providing a service that helps families honor their loved ones with the dignity and respect they deserve. If you're a funeral home owner, or someone who has recently experienced a loss, I invite you to connect. Let's explore how we can create meaningful, heartfelt farewells together. #purposedriven #purposedrivenbusiness #purposebuilt

It’s not easy being an entrepreneur and starting a business. Here’s what our CEO, Dominique T., says to those who think they’ve “failed” if they have another job other than running their business!

There’s a part of entrepreneurship that no one talks about… We celebrate success stories, but rarely discuss the gritty challenges. It's a path filled with hard work, and sometimes, the necessity of juggling multiple jobs. If you haven’t read Adam Grant's book "Originals," I highly recommend it. He highlighted a few founders, including how the founders of Warby Parker balanced their startup plans while attending Wharton. They even had job options lined up as a safety net. Steve Wozniak remained at Hewlett-Packard for a year after inventing the Apple I and founding Apple with Steve Jobs. Sergey Brin and Larry Page took two years after developing their search technology before fully committing to Google. Success doesn't demand an all-or-nothing approach. Working another job while building your dream doesn't mean you're failing; it means you're strategically navigating the entrepreneurial landscape. Let's normalize this part of the entrepreneurial journey. It's okay to make sure you can pay your bills. It's okay to take gradual steps towards your dream. What matters is your persistence, adaptability, and the courage to keep moving forward. To all the entrepreneurs out there, balancing multiple roles, you're not alone. Your journey, with all its challenges and triumphs, is valid and inspiring. #entrepreneurlife #entrepreneurship #entrepreneurialjourney
