Thrilled to share an exciting update from our farm! 🌱✨ Farming has always been about innovation and sustainability for me, and this season, I've embarked on a somewhat unconventional project—growing cantaloupe from seeds of cantaloupes purchased at the grocery store! Yes, you read that right! This project began as a small experiment inspired by a desire to repurpose what many would see as waste, and to explore the potential of seeds that are often overlooked. It's been a journey of learning, adapting, and being pleasantly surprised by the resilience of these seeds. After carefully selecting the ripest and healthiest cantaloupes from the store, I extracted the seeds, prepared them for planting, and started this unique cultivation journey. Fast forward a few months, and I'm witnessing an incredible transformation. The seeds have grown into robust plants, promising a fruitful harvest. This endeavor has not only been about growing cantaloupe; it's been a heartening reminder of the beauty of growth and the endless possibilities when we think outside the box. NeithRa has pivoted since our inception in 2016. This is an understatement. Yesterday, I had a 30-minute consultation with a business coach through Accion Opportunity Fund. Connecting with my coach in such a short time was challenging, and I don't think we are a good fit. However, he did give me one piece of advice that resonated with me. He suggested I focus on my personal life to make my business goals more attainable. Although the advice was quite general due to our limited time, I found a way to apply it to my situation. Over the past five years, I've been through significant transitions, including moving to four different cities, divorced, and dealing with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout it all, I've been focused on rebuilding my life authentically. While my coach might not fully understand my experiences, he failed to assume that we pursue business solely for monetary gain. For me and many others, it's about adding value to the world. I am committed to developing my business concept with this new mindset, confident that my worth as a business owner is undeniable.
