Creating a healthier future for all children #WellBeyondMedicine

About us

Nemours is committed to improving the health of children. As a non-profit children’s health organization, we consider the health of every child to be a sacred trust. Through family-centered care in our children’s hospitals and clinics in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida, as well as world-changing research, education and advocacy, Nemours fulfills the promise of a healthier tomorrow for all children — even those who may never enter our doors. Nemours began more than 80 years ago with the vision of Alfred I. duPont to improve the lives of children and to do whatever it takes to prevent and treat even the most disabling childhood conditions. Today, through our children’s hospitals and health system, we directly care for 250,000 children annually in Delaware Valley and Florida, including families who travel from across the country and world to see our specialists — treating every child as we would our own. We also reach beyond the walls of our hospitals and clinics to be a voice for children on a national and international level, and to lead the way in prevention, intervention, education, and research. Nemours is growing to better serve the children and families in our care. We have 1.1 million square feet of space currently devoted to providing children’s healthcare or under construction, all designed with significant input and advice from our patients and families.

We are proud to announce the expansion of our partnership with the Jacksonville Jaguars as their official pediatric partner. Over the next three years, Nemours Children’s Health and the Jaguars will launch the first-ever Jaguars Kids Club, offering exclusive access and events for young fans. We’re also thrilled to have Brian Thomas Jr. and Maason Smith join us as our inaugural NFL brand ambassadors, supporting our mission to improve children's lives on and off the field. Today, the Jaguars had the honor of meeting Elena, who is being treated for leukemia at Nemours. Her mom, Natalie, shared their inspiring story – she’s been cancer free for 17 years after being treated for leukemia at Nemours as a child! This partnership is a testament to our shared mission of making a positive impact in the lives of children like Elena. For more details, visit: https://bit.ly/3ZfGXXT

Empowering our youth with lifesaving skills! Recently, students at Boone High School had a unique opportunity to learn hands-only CPR with Mayor Dyer, Dr. Peace Madueme, and the Orange County Fire Department. Essential skills like checking for vitals and performing chest compressions could one day save a life! Because 1 in 4 people will need to perform CPR, we're proud to support initiatives that ensure the health of our community goes well beyond medicine.

Mary Ann Woodruff, MD, FAAP, Pediatrics Northwest, and Joseph Le Roy, LICSW, LICSW, HopeSparks Family Services, join us for part two of our series featuring Whole Child Health Alliance members. Together, they share insights into their integrated care model, which brings mental health support directly into pediatric primary care with a focus on prevention and early intervention. Through universal screening and equity-focused telehealth, their approach effectively addresses children’s mental health needs. By prioritizing whole child health, this model has the potential to transform outcomes for kids and families, early on. Listen to Episode 117: https://bit.ly/3Ecot1M Have an idea for the show? • 💙 It’s crucial to recognize the emotional toll that congenital heart disease (CHD) can have on both children and their caregivers. Anxiety and depression are common challenges faced in these situations. Dr. Erica Sood and Joslyn Kenowitz, PhD, pediatric psychologists at the Nemours Children's Cardiac Center, underscore the necessity of integrating mental health support into cardiac care.
