Emotional Intelligence (EI) is a game-changer for EMS leaders. Developing your EI can strengthen your ability to manage stress, communicate effectively, and build stronger relationships with your team and patients. Here’s how you can work on improving your EI: 1. Practice Self-Awareness: Notice how your emotions impact your actions and decisions. 2. Understand Your Triggers: Identify what causes certain reactions and work to manage them. 3. Communicate Openly: Express feelings clearly and assertively, without bottling them up. 4. Stay Calm in Stressful Moments: Take a pause and reframe situations to maintain focus. Investing in your EI helps you connect, inspire, and lead with empathy and resilience. Start today to see positive impacts in your work and personal life!

NEMSMA is a professional association of EMS leaders dedicated to the discovery, development, and promotion of excellence
About us
The National EMS Management Association (NEMSMA) is a professional association of EMS leaders dedicated to the discovery, development, and promotion of excellence in leadership and management in EMS systems, regardless of EMS system model, organizational structure or agency affiliation. NEMSMA is an inclusive organization of EMS leaders and managers where all are welcomed regardless of organizational size, corporate structure, ownership, or philosophy. Whether you are fire, public or private, rural, suburban, urban, city or county, hospital, third service, police, military, you are welcome under the National EMS Management Association umbrella - the only EMS association dedicated to discovering, sharing, developing, and promoting best EMS management practices. Under the NEMSMA umbrella, you will have an opportunity to continually learn from a diverse group of EMS executives who like you, deal with EMS staffing, budgeting, deployment, response times, fleet management, and medical direction on a daily basis. You can share your hard knocks and wisdom with other NEMSMA managers who can give you peer to peer feedback. Our goal is to become a powerful source for information, know how and experience for all EMS managers, regardless of agency size and model. We are on a campaign to collectively learn from each other and scale the mountain of unproductive and limiting rhetoric about whose model is better.

🦃 Stay Safe This Thanksgiving! 🍽️ Thanksgiving is a time for family, friends, and food—but also a peak day for cooking fires. Here are some quick tips to keep your kitchen safe: ➡ Never Leave Cooking Unattended: Stay in the kitchen when frying, grilling, or broiling. ➡ Keep Flammable Items Away: Keep towels, mitts, and packaging away from heat sources. ➡ Turn Pot Handles Inward: Prevent spills by turning handles toward the back of the stove. ➡ Be Cautious with Hot Oil: If deep frying a turkey, follow all safety instructions and stay outside with your fryer. ➡ Have a Fire Extinguisher Handy: Make sure it’s within reach and know how to use it! Let’s make this a safe and happy holiday for everyone!
