✈️ While discourse on social media suggests the “look-a-like competition” popularity is dwindling down, luggage & retail brand Away was quick to spotlight the nationwide competitions’ most infamous winners in a brilliant campaign ad. Their latest luggage campaign advertisement – 🧳 tagged, “Even look-a-likes travel with the real thing” 🧳 – is not only witty, but brilliantly thrown together. With famous locations like Chicago’s The Beef and overnight look-a-like stars, there’s nothing better to grab people’s attention in a constant spiral of new content. Are we laughing? Yes. Are we intrigued? Even more so. Campaign planners & marketers, take note. 🌟 The best social media campaigns sometimes DO happen overnight. #influencermarketing #neoreach #marketing #campaignspotlight #marketingcampaigns #lookalikecompetition #socialmediamanagers

📘 What’s the deal with Bluesky Social? 📘 If you’ve been paying attention to headlines (and even if you haven’t), you’ve probably heard about the “X exodus” happening in these post-election times. As these users flee to other platforms like Threads and Bluesky, they’re all collectively yearning for the same things: a decentralized open framework, community, and connection-based feed curation. Bluesky Social, the rival “underdog” app that’s quite similar to X feeds, grew immensely last week in response to those principles – boasting nearly 1M user sign-ups in just one day. Why is it growing so quickly & why are users so invested in its success? 💠 New third party tools let new Bluesky users mass upload their old tweets to the platform, helping creators, public figures, and influencers with a more seamless transition. 💠 With a reverse chronological timeline (like the “old Twitter”), reportedly less misinformation and hate speech, and more user control over feeds, users seem to be enjoying not just the new communities gathering on the app, but the platform’s general functionality, as well. 💠 With more than 15M user sign-ups in November alone, users are also testing out Threads as an X replacement, as they continue to differentiate themselves from instagram in a unique, trendsetting way. Have you already joined Bluesky? Are you enjoying the community-centric engagement and features? Are there things you often enjoyed as a marketing professional, creator, or influencer on X that you’re not yet seeing fulfilled on Bluesky or Threads? Read more about Bluesky, including new functionalities & critiques in our weekly industry newsletter! Sign up to join the mailing list here: https://lnkd.in/gTE4mHf8

Newsworthy creator economy headlines this week ⬇️⬇️⬇️ 🌚 HubSpot’s 2024 Video Marketing Report reveals the the majority (83%) of video marketers use short-form video, with just 39% leveraging long-form, and 14% on lives. Nearly 8% of video marketers spend over $100K per quarter on video – especially as more platforms (Spotify, TikTok, Instagram, etc) continue to add & expand their current capabilities. 🐦 Threads allegedly had over 15 million signups this month – more than competitor Bluesky has in total on their platform. As users, especially post-election, flee other platforms like X, what exactly are they looking for in the ‘new age’ of socials? Who are they looking to support? What are they willing to tolerate? How does Threads fit the bill? 🎶 Spotify’s Gustav Söderström argues their potential new AI generated music would not only curate for any specific user, but help to ‘amplify the creativity’ of digitally inclined artists (think Avicii, even Bach?) and other creators on their platform. Spotify's AI would also create ‘human connection scarcity’ with traditional creators, podcasters, and artists on the app, driving MORE engagement, MORE visibility, and MORE loyalty. 📹 YouTube gets in on the ‘digital gifting game,’ rolling out new ‘jewels’ feature for users to gift livestream creators. Similar to TikTok's coins, ‘rubies’ on YouTube are valued at one cent each. While there’s no ‘fixed revenue share,’ since costs of jewels can change, they’ve offered a 50% bonus on earnings each month to eligible creators (up to an additional $1K per month). 🎤 Are once-rigid guidelines for election influences blurring as social media platforms harness the power of their influencers amid political campaigns? ⭐ Paramark.com’s News Desk poses the question, but the answer may be just as vague. As influencer marketing leaders like NeoReach continue to move forward with a shared mission of supporting their creators, how can they facilitate both sides’ integrity in the constant battle of influencer expression and paid endorsement expectations? 🌍 The recent U.S. presidential election harnessed over 100 million mentions across social media platforms worldwide, in the first half of 2024 alone, according to NeoReach’s newest report (✨read more in the comments✨). 💻 Influencers, creators, and social media stars are being recruited – from the top to the bottom of campaigns – to help draw in this engagement, and oftentimes, they’re entering into “uncharted territory.” 📲 Especially in a high-stakes and controversial election, where creators are being recruited from across industries (not necessarily political realms) to contribute, how can they ensure they’re participating in a productive way? 👏 That’s where agencies like NeoReach come in – both to help creators navigate through these unprecedented times & trail blaze new avenues for success across platforms, industries, and specific influencer niches. Read more about Paramark.com’s investigation with contributions from NeoReach’s James Michalak & Stephanie Payas below. #neoreach #influencermarketing #election #politicalinfluencers #contentmarketing #marketingagencies #creatoreconomy https://lnkd.in/g5CKKG5H

From users to influencers, the impact is now impossible to ignore. 🌎 According to Onclusive, the 2024 U.S. presidential election has garnered well over 100 millions mentions across social media platforms worldwide, but these unconventional media contributions aren’t solely online. 🎤 Impactful creators were also invited to attend a host of in-person political events over the past year, from the White House’s first-ever Creator Economy Conference to the Democratic & Republican National Conventions – not just to share the experience, but to make the political environment and process more accessible to everyone. 💻 TikTok is now the most popular news source amongst Gen Z users and creators, fueling new partnerships, sponsorships, and campaigns that invest into creator visibility and content, especially as the presidential election looms right around the corner (AKA tomorrow). ✨ This week, Forbes released their infamous “Top Creators of 2024” list, boasting big names across the digital landscape from social media stars like MrBeast, to now-mainstream idols like Alex Cooper, and new musical stars like Addison Rae. ✨ 📈 Creators like tech guru Marques Brownlee, who’ve now expanded to a level of success requiring a warehouse to run his YouTube channel, admit the “steady growth” of a social media career is the key to longevity – arguing that virality is overrated for cultivating a true community of supporters. 📈 💻 However, now-mainstream musical and media stars like Addison Rae might argue vitality, including debate-worthy movies, media headlines, and hit singles amid the resurgence of pop music, is what truly defines a career online. 💻 💫Are these defining viral moments of an online star’s career what prompts reliable longevity or is it a commitment to consistency that allows for social media stars to make the shift to mainstream media? Is this shift even something that most creators are hoping for or is there a sense of true security in a strictly online career? 💫 💄 Many of the list’s featured creators, like makeup guru Mikayla Nogueira, who secured her spot on the list for the 3rd year in a row, could argue for the latter – boasting nearly $7M in total earning this year with nearly 19M total followers online. 💄 🎤 How do you envision the growing popularity of the “social media star to mainstream idol” pipeline playing out for the newest generation of creators and influencers? Is there longevity to strictly online fame in the future of our industry? We’re definitely feeling empowered to say yes…are you? 🎤 #influencermarketing #creatoreconomy #influencers #neoreach #contentmarketing #marketingagency #socialmediamanagers #socialmedia https://lnkd.in/gGUQs9BX
