To end 2024, we share a nice AV case in the filming industry from a company whose work you definitely know. Clear Angle Studios is a leading 3D capture and processing company and has been working on countless projects since its launch in 2013. Credits to their name include: 🎬Gladiator II 🎬Alien: Romulus 🎬Barbie 🎬Chernobyl 🎬Dune and Dune: Part Two 🎬and many, many more. Their Challenge Shooting at the subject's face and head at 48 frames per second equals approximately 30 megabytes per image. So, if, for instance, 13 cameras are being used in a 15-minute scanning session, that can easily be 10 or even 15 terabytes of data NETGEAR's Solution Our answer is to have a high-bandwidth, high-speed network switch that can rapidly move vast amounts of data between the various endpoints involved, such as the cameras, the server, and the storage. Clear Angle Studiuo's IT manager, Andrew G., chose our 100MB M4500, saying: “It made my life 100 per cent easier when we got our first 100Gb switch. Rows of workstations are plugged directly into the M4500, which is then connected to the main storage. It’s not all cameras, drones and A-listers here at Clear Angle Studios, and it takes a lot of hard work behind the scenes to keep the wheels turning. The main server room, managed by our IT department, contains 7 server cabinets and 167 PCs that are accessed by over 100 remote workers around the world. As if that wasn’t enough, the ever increasing complexity of the capture systems themselves provides the team with numerous additional technical challenges.
