Debby Scire has been a tireless advocate for New Hampshire students, and her work bringing together our NHCUC member institutions has positively shaped the future of our state's colleges. In June 2024, the NHCUC supported the launch of the New Hampshire Transfer Guarantee program, which simplifies the transfer process and guarantees admission for students who earn associate degrees in the Community College System of New Hampshire and want to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a four-year college or university. Debby described how the New Hampshire Transfer Guarantee was designed to benefit students in a recent article from the Laconia Daily Sun about the program: “The program removes barriers that previously slowed students down, discouraged them or involved extra expense, such as losing earned credits in the transfer process which added both cost and time to degree,” Scire added. As we congratulate Debby on her well-deserved retirement, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude for her dedication to New Hampshire’s students. Her work will continue to shape and expand access to higher education for future generations of New Hampshire learners! In her role as President of the NHCUC, Debby Scire created opportunities to convene campus and state leaders to address educational needs, policy, and strategy.
