How AI Will Reshape Creative Tech. "Creative tech" is often overlooked in venture capital, but that’s about to change. AI is unlocking new ways to create, consume, and monetize creative content. Despite the explosion of digital creativity, investment in creative tech has lagged. Yet history tells us this is a mistake. The last two decades gave us massive creative platforms: - Spotify ($40B), TikTok (est. $250B), Adobe ($240B), YouTube (Alphabet: $1.8T) - Substack, CapCut, Notion and AI-powered platforms are now rewriting the playbook. The good news? AI is breathing new life into creative tech. Below, we break down the evolution of key creative categories—from music to video to writing. The question now: Which companies will own the AI-native wave? Who do you think will be the new category leaders? Comment below! Early stage startups where are you??

🇬🇧 Last week in London we brought together founders, investors, and industry leaders who are driving the creative and cultural industries forward. A huge thank you to everyone who joined! It was a pleasure to co-host the event with Paloneo and V3 Ventures. There were great conversations, exceptional food and world-class classical music at Fidelio Cafe. A special thank you to Sofía Medina for her breathtaking performance—what a highlight! 🎹 We’re looking forward to hosting more events soon. The Audio industry is not only Music, podcasts, and audiobooks. One overlooked segment is growing fast (yet peacefully)… ✨ Soundscapes. And today it's far more than just rain sounds and whale noises. Research shows that curated soundscapes can reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance sleep quality. With the rise of smart speakers, meditation apps, and spatial audio, this segment is booming. We spoke with Oleg, Founder of Endel in our new podcast - link in comments

AI and Music have a complex relationship. From copyright concerns to creative control... So how can AI companies balance algorithmic generation with artistic integrity? 🔑 The key isn’t mass generation—it’s collaboration. Endel is a company using AI to create personalized soundscapes for focus and sleep. Instead of replacing artists, they work with them—collaborating with talents like Grimes and James Blake to enhance, not replace, human creativity. We always hear about “human in the loop”, but what does that actually look like in the audio industry? 🎶 Oleg Stavitsky, founder of Endel, breaks it down for us in our podcast (see comments for full episode) 📩 Sign up for our monthly newsletter for the full conversation nrventures.substack.com

Yesterday Tiktok’s US ban finally went through (at least temporarily before returning 14 hours late). Whilst many see this as major setback to the overall creator economy, we see it as a huge opportunity for innovation. ✨ Creators are reshaping culture, commerce, and community. And here’s 3 opportunities we see ahead… 📺 1. Long-form formats are experiencing a resurgence. Consumers are craving deeper, more meaningful interactions, and creators are rising to the challenge. 🤝 2. Brands are moving towards long-term relationships with creators. Not only does this promote more authenticity it also allows brands to move at the speed of culture. 💼 3. More B2B creators: LinkedIn and B2B Influencers. Creators on LinkedIn are humanizing brands, driving lead generation, and building trust with audiences in ways that traditional B2B strategies often cannot. 💡 Is the creator economy finally back on track? Venture funding tells a more positive story... Source: The Information

💡 These are our 3 predictions for the creative industries in 2025... 🎨 1. AI companies will collaborate more with artists - from musicians to film makers. As artist rights become an increasingly important issue, companies training their AI models on creative work (all of them) are forced to develop a more mutually beneficial relationship with artists. Don’t be surprised if high-profile creatives speak out on this publicly… 👩💻 2. Clone wars: Creators battle to adopt digital clones Today, AI tools can understand and repurpose all your content (written, audio, video) into a sophisticated clone of yourself. These tools offer a scalable and affordable way for creators, celebrities, thought leaders to engage with their fans. Liking a reel on Instagram means nothing anymore... 🎶 3. Tiktok will continue to be a driver of culture globally TikTok not only provides tremendous economic value, contributing $8.5 billion to the US GDP in 2023, but it is also the go-to source for creative talent. 13 of the 16 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 Songs of 2024 were linked to TikTok trends. Meanwhile, the threat of losing Tiktok has pushed creators and founders to think more about how creators might own their audience. Something crypto promises to solve… 👀 We’re aware that 2 of our 3 predictions involve AI. Whilst it seems the world has focused on this topic for what seems like forever, its impact on the creative industry is just beginning! What do you think about our predictions - are we missing anything?
