A decade ago, Brett Hagler, Alexandria Lafci, Matthew Marshall, and Michael Arrieta founded New Story after believing there had to be better ways to solve the world's housing crisis.

We’re proud to have participated in the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF12) in Cairo, where the theme was sustainable urbanization. Claudia Acuña, our Managing Director of Impact, met with global leaders like Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of UN-Habitat, to improve our work in building resilient, inclusive, and sustainable communities. By designing and financing resilient neighborhoods, we aim to create environments where families feel secure and valued, with a place to build their futures.

This past weekend, we gathered to celebrate New Story’s 10 years of impact and share our vision for the future. We raised $4M at our anniversary event – funds that will support market-based housing solutions for underserved families. What makes this special? Our community sees what we see – that we need to move beyond traditional aid and subsidies. Our solution scales because it works with market forces, not against them. We're creating systems that enable millions of families to access home ownership through legitimate financial channels. Thank you to our visionary supporters who recognize solving complex social challenges requires innovative, market-driven approaches.
