#Union labor is leading the #offshorewind industry. 25 year member of Local 157, Kirt mccarthy was recently interviewed about working at the #SouthBrooklynMarineTerminal. Equinor Nyc Economic Development Corp "Experienced workers like McCarthy are close by to help the younger #apprentices, perpetuating an ongoing process of bringing up the next generation who will have access to family-sustaining wages through union work. “I feel this wind farm is going to grow roots in the neighborhood and the city,” McCarthy said. "The labor aspect of it is great, and I hope we can get some more projects like this in New York City.” https://lnkd.in/gyGh2ymN

For Business Insider, I wrote about how blue-collar work has become cool (or hot!) again. Demand is high, opportunities abound, and companies like Walmart and UPS offer six-figure salaries and lucrative benefits. In White-Collar World, meanwhile, campuses have cheaper snacks, remote work is a career trap, layoffs loom, and AI robots circle like vultures. Indeed, things are getting hot under the blue collar in America. Check out my full deep dive on Business Insider!

President Biden has done more to put union carpenters to work and protect American jobs than any president in my lifetime. His economic and trade policies demonstrate an understanding of how to push the benefits of federal government investment through the economy and into a wider population than "trickle down"strategies every did.
#HappeningNow: The Carpenters are ready to welcome President Joe Biden to #Syracuse today and applaud his leadership in making historic investments in our nation’s infrastructure. Our members are working on job sites today thanks to his leadership. That’s a big deal!! 📸 Carpenters Local 277 apprentice Nate Henry, business manager James Mason, business representative Mitch Latimer, and NASRCC leaders Joe Byrne, Bill Banfield, and Tricia Richardson who were joined by State Senators Lea Webb and John Mannion and Assemblyman Al Stirpe. #WhenUnionCarpentersVotePoliticiansListen #VoteForYourUnionAndFuture #Micron #InvestingInAmerica Micron Technology
