We’re excited to announce that Nex-Tech CEO, Jimmy Todd, will serve as FBA Treasurer in 2025, after being re-elected to the board for a consecutive 3-year term. Most recently, he served as Chair to the 2024 Board of Directors, Vice Chair to the 2023 Board, and Secretary to the 2022 Board. Jimmy is passionate about advocating for rural broadband and will continue to enact change in this position.
Today, the Fiber Broadband Association announced its 2025 Board of Directors, comprised of 10 industry experts. This year’s Board has an additional member, and FBA will add an additional member each year for the next two years for a total of 12 members by 2027 to help lead FBA through monumental investments in fiber broadband across North America. The new Board comprises a diverse assortment of industry leaders who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to FBA and its mission to accelerate fiber broadband deployments and close the digital equity gap across North America. This grant will be used to upgrade their computer systems, enhancing the digital resources available to Lenora. The check presentation took place on November 4, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the library's efforts to provide state-of-the-art technology and services to its patrons. 🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 On Tuesday, October 15, our team had the honor of speaking at the Saline County commissioners' meeting. Nex-Tech's Community Engagement Specialist, Friday Otuya, represented our team and presented the commission with a Nex-Tech Academy Network certificate, marking a significant step in our partnership to enhance digital skills acquisition in the county. The Nex-Tech Academy is dedicated to providing educational resources and training to close the digital divide in Kansas. Through our Academy, we offer in-person digital skills training sessions, with recordings available on our YouTube channel. Our goal is to empower community members with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the digital world confidently. We are thrilled to continue working with local institutions and community organizations to promote digital literacy and create a network of digitally included communities.
