This week we celebrate #CSEdWeek, the annual call to action to inspire K-12 students to learn computer science, advocate for equity and celebrate the contributions of students, teachers and partners to the field. Learn about one of the many ways Nextech not only celebrates and amplifies the need for computer science education, but works to ensure every student has the chance to shape the future with it.

Our mission is to create equitable access to computer science curriculum and experiences for all K-12 Indiana students.
About us
Nextech is creating initiatives and building partnerships that connect educators, innovative nonprofits, and entrepreneurs to deliver best-in-class programs that inspire and enable young people from all backgrounds to pursue careers in technology. More than half of the 9.2 million science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) jobs in the U.S. between 2010 and 2020 will be in computing. Yet, fewer students pursue technology careers every year. Nextech exists to close the gap. We expose young people to new career possibilities, teach them how to interact with and develop technology, and inspire them to explore careers in tech.

“Nextech is special because it allows people to gain access to companies and knowledge that they either wouldn't have access to or motivation to seek out. Catapult shows kids just how truly massive the tech and computer science industry is and how they can make a difference in it, not just in their local area, but on a global scale.” - Rowan, 2024 Evansville Catapult. “When I first started Catapult, I felt lost about what I wanted to pursue. I was interested in computer science but had no clear idea of what it really entailed. This program has deepened my understanding of the field as a whole and helped me explore specific specializations. I’ve realized that there’s a place for everyone in the tech world, and I can continue to pursue my passion for medicine while also working in technology.” - Maram, 2024 Evansville Catapult.
