The clean-resilient energy storage microgrid being commissioned at Kaiser Permanente Ontario Medical Center passed a major milestone this month, receiving Conditional Permission to Operate (PTO) from the electric utility, Southern California Edison. This microgrid marks several firsts in the industry, including first long-duration energy storage microgrid at a hospital, first non-lithium ion energy storage microgrid at a hospital, and the first pure clean energy only (solar+fuel cell+plus battery) microgrid to directly connect to and support hospital emergency bus. The overall control and energy management for the microgrid is provided by Nhu Energy's Operating Technology (OT) solution stack. Look for full commercial operation in the coming months.
