NIPSCO is dedicated to upgrading, modernizing and expanding our natural gas system to provide safe and reliable energy to our customers. This year, we proudly completed the Aetna to Tassignong Gas Transmission Project—a massive, multi-year initiative that installed 24 miles of 26” gas pipeline, rebuilt seven regulator stations and added an interconnect system to ensure a steady gas supply. This expansion strengthens energy access for major industries in northwest Indiana, fueling economic growth and supporting the communities we serve now and for years to come.

Last week, the Urban League of Northwest Indiana hosted its annual Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Awards Luncheon, where Orville Cocking, P.E., Senior Vice President of Electric Operations at NIPSCO, delivered remarks to attendees. Orville spoke about the significance of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at NIPSCO and urged attendees to advocate for DEI within their own organizations, embracing new perspectives and driving excellence within our communities. NIPSCO was proud to sponsor the event, which recognized individuals and organizations across Northwest Indiana for their efforts in "moving the needle" toward a more inclusive and equitable future for all. Congratulations to Eric Groat, manager of NIPSCO’s Gary Electric Line Department, for being recognized as one of the Times IN Business 20 Under 40 honorees. The class of 2024 was celebrated at an awards dinner at the Blue Chip Casino this week for their outstanding leadership in the growth and development of Northwest Indiana. Since joining NIPSCO in 2013, Eric has been focused on serving our customers and taking on new challenges. On a daily basis, he demonstrates his relentless passion for ensuring homes and businesses across the community are served with safe, reliable energy. NIPSCO President and Chief Operating Officer Vincent Parisi was the guest speaker at the Gary Chamber of Commerce’s monthly luncheon this week. Vince shared key updates on NIPSCO’s energy transition, economic development initiatives and infrastructure modernization efforts with city officials, community members and business leaders. NIPSCO is committed to driving growth and innovation in the Region and remains dedicated to serving and strengthening our communities through major projects, volunteerism, board memberships and grants. We’re proud to celebrate our very own Melissa McLindon, Manager of Industrial Billing & Controls, alongside NiSource’s Aida Haigh, Director of Strategy and Tonya Stanley, Senior Director of Real Estate Services & Aviation, who were recognized at the 13th Annual Influential Women of Northwest Indiana Awards hosted by the Northwest Indiana Influential Women Association (NWIIWA). Melissa received the award for Up-and-Coming Woman in Construction/Manufacturing, Aida was honored as the Supporter of the Year and Tonya was a finalist for Up-and-Coming Woman in Business. Each of them exemplifies exceptional leadership, dedication and a commitment to empowering other women in our community. Today, our NIPSCO line workers and support teams have completed their assignments and are returning home following #HurricaneMilton power restoration work in the Eustis, Florida area. We’re proud to have been part of the recovery efforts to bring power restoration and relief to communities affected by the storm. Thank you to our dedicated employees and the thousands of utility workers engaged in this storm response for their commitment to helping those in need.
