The rise of remote work, social media, deepfakes, and the dark web has made these risks more complex, potentially causing reputational harm, financial losses, regulatory penalties, or even physical danger. Addressing these threats requires understanding the individuals behind them, a process that demands specialized expertise and advanced technology. At Nisos, we've been tracking this scheme and sharing insights since December 2023. In our latest newsletter, we outline actionable best practices to help companies screen applicants and references effectively, reducing the risk of unauthorized access to sensitive systems and data. Here’s what enterprise leaders need to know: 🔹 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬, like inconsistent online presences or reluctance to appear on camera. 🔹 𝐓𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬, including in-person verification and detailed address checks for equipment shipments. 🔹 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐓 to support your vetting efforts. #EmploymentFraud #DPRK #EnterpriseSecurity #HumanRisk #TheHumanElement
