💌Would you send that email to your friend? On the latest episode of the Just Be Cause Podcast, I had the great pleasure of chatting up Morgan Gross of Fundraising Beyond Borders to talk all things international fundraising. We tend to focus so much on who our "audience" is, that we forget that these are individuals opening our communications. Morgan brought up a great tip: would you feel comfortable sending your solicitation emails to a friend or family member? When we pause to think about this, it can help us better frame or write the email to feel more warm and friendly, building a stronger bond and connection with our donors. Tune in to the full episode for more tips on international fundraising! Link in the comments! #InternationalFundraising #Nonprofits #NonprofitPodcast #FundraisingBeyondBorders #NewPodcast

How long does it take you to do that annual analytics report? Last Whole Whale webinar of the year on Monday (12/16), I will go through an AWESOME Google Analytics and Looker template we have built for #nonprofits. Free for live attendees. And then use a GPT to give a topline summary. My hope is that the time saved will let nonprofit teams spend more time on the narrative and strategy rath than the "reporting squirrel" stuff ;) Avinash Kaushik #ga4 #lookerstudio #ai https://lnkd.in/gpHM4pdv

🔻Feedback Isn’t Always Easy, but It’s Necessary Avoiding💢feedback doesn’t make problems go away. If you’ve ever hesitated to have a difficult🗣️conversation with a team member, you’re not alone. This is a struggle many leaders face, especially in the nonprofit world where our💼work is mission-driven and deeply personal. But tough conversations, when handled well, are some of the most🤝💥impactful tools in a leader’s toolkit. In my recent conversation with Asila Calhoun, PCC, PHR, Leadership Coach on🎙Mission: Impact podcast, she emphasized the power of 🔥💪preparation when giving feedback. As she said, “What are the☝🏼one to three things you can share? Be ready, know what’s important, and deliver it in a way the person can👂hear.” Here are some key takeaways from our discussion: 🔹🌟 Prepare with intention: Think through the key points you want to share. A laundry list of feedback can overwhelm—stick to what’s essential. 🔹🎤 Create a safe space: Start with open-ended questions, like “How do you think that went?” This helps the other person engage in the conversation. 🔹💡 Focus on growth: Frame feedback as a learning opportunity. Be clear that it’s not about fault-finding but about helping the team member improve and succeed. 🥴Difficult conversations are never easy, but they are necessary for growth—yours, your team’s, and your organization’s. As leaders, it’s our responsibility to build trust and clarity by addressing issues with respect and care.👐 How do you prepare for challenging conversations❓Share your tips! #nonprofitleadership #difficultconversation #Professionalgrowth _______________________ 👋Hi, I’m Carol Hamilton. It's election week, y'all. ✅ Make sure you VOTE. ✅ Take care of each other. ✅ If you're a manager, be mindful. Here's a great article about feeling distracted. Our favorite tip? Stop anxious fixing.
Feeling distracted ahead of the US election? You're not alone. Managing a team when everyone (including you) is glued to the news can be challenging. Here are three of the leadership strategies that Mollie West Duffy and I share in Harvard Business Review: ✍️ Stop anxious fixing. Take care to avoid letting your own stress make you start micromanaging or inundating your team with messages. 📰 Check the news. Don’t doomscroll all day, but do make sure you’re up-to-date on what’s happening to prepare for emotion within your team. 📉 Plan for a dip in productivity. Recognize that your team will be less focused than usual and adjust your expectations accordingly. For more on how to navigate the emotional ups and downs of a distracting news cycle, read the full article. ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/g4n6BdfX
