Some companies still have outdated and inefficient equipment in their packaging systems. That can slow production and increase costs.  Drink International S.p.A., based in Settimo Torinese, Italy, faced similar challenges. Specializing in selecting and packaging specialty items for special events, the company ran eight packaging lines operating at a speed of only ten packages per minute. Im Oktober hatten unsere Auszubildenden die Gelegenheit, unsere Kolleginnen und Kollegen der Nordson Engineering  in Lüneburg zu besuchen. Dabei konnten sie verschiedene Arbeitsbereiche intensiv kennenlernen: In der Montage erfuhren sie mehr über präzise Handarbeit, während sie in der Fertigung die komplexen Produktionsabläufe miterlebten. Im Controlling erhielten sie wertvolle Einblicke in die Welt der Zahlen, und im Einkauf lernten sie, wie Waren beschafft und Lieferketten effizient gestaltet werden. Die Vielfalt der Eindrücke machte deutlich, wie eng die einzelnen Bereiche miteinander verzahnt sind. Praktische Übungen und Gespräche mit erfahrenen Mitarbeitern machten den Besuch für die Auszubildenden zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis.
