Basic needs and social services to empower those experiencing homelessness and poverty

About us

The Norristown Hospitality Center is a resource center for the low income, homeless, and needy of the Norristown area. We are the only food pantry in the area that provides breakfast 6 days a week. We also provide mailboxes which enables clients to receive mail at a safe and reliable address. We also offer other amenities such as a shower with toiletries and fresh towels each day, and a public phone and free copy/fax services. Licensed social workers and therapists assist by directing our clients to the appropriate resources and provide referrals. We believe in filling both the stomach and the spirit, and provide encouragement through an optional daily devotion as well. We are always looking for volunteers and donations. Visit our website, follow us on Facebook, and stop by the center for breakfast, devotion, and tour of our facility !

Updates

  • Due to the forecast of dangerously low temperatures (as low as 5 degrees) on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the Norristown Hospitality Center will extend its hours of operation. Each weekday, the Hospitality Center is open from 7 AM to 3 PM. However, recognizing that many public buildings including the library will be closed for the holiday, our unhoused guests have limited options during the extreme cold. We have made the decision to remain open until 8 PM on Mon, Jan 20th. This will ensure a safe & warm space for those in need. This will mean that our guests can move from the Code Blue Shelter on Monday morning, spend the entire day with us until 8:00 PM, & then move back over to the Code Blue Shelter on Monday evening. This decision ensures a continuum of indoor care throughout the day and potentially saves lives in the dangerous cold. • Wow, what an absolutely AMAZING lunch today at the Norristown Hospitality Center! 🤩 We were completely blown away by the generosity and talent of our friends from Cornerstone Fellowship Church! They didn't just bring food, they brought a FEAST! 🤤 We're talking mouthwatering barbecue salmon, pork, AND chicken sandwiches, accompanied by delicious mashed potatoes, green beans, and a scrumptious dessert! But that's not all! They also filled the Center with the beautiful sounds of Christmas carols, thanks to their talented saxophone player, guitarist, and singers! 🎶🎄 Even our director, Sunanda, joined in. It was truly a festive and heartwarming atmosphere. It was a fun (and very filling!) afternoon for everyone. A huge thank you to Cornerstone Fellowship Church for your incredible generosity and for making today so special! #NorristownHospitalityCenter #CornerstoneFellowshipChurch #CommunityLove #ChristmasCheer #ThankYou #DeliciousFood #LiveMusic #FeelingFestive #Gratitude

  • It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at the Norristown Hospitality Center! ht HUGE thank you to the incredible Ancora Spero Foundation and the amazing Holly Firely for your continued dedication to our families! Holly's heart of gold shines brighter than any Christmas light! She coordinated dozens of generous donors to supply Christmas presents for 14 of the families who rely on our services. tps Not only that, but each family also received food for a delicious Christmas meal! The joy on the parents' faces as they stop by to pick up the gifts is truly heartwarming. They are so overjoyed and relieved that their children will have a magical Christmas morning filled with the excitement of opening presents this year. This wouldn't be possible without the generosity of Ancora Spero and the tireless efforts of Holly. Thank you for spreading so much Christmas cheer and making this a truly special holiday season for these families! #NorristownHospitalityCenter #AncoraSperoFoundation #HollyFirely #ChristmasMiracles #HolidayCheer #CommunityLove #GivingBack #TisTheSeason #ThankYou
