Northeast Collaborative Architects (NCA) is seeking highly talented and motivated professionals for the following positions. NCA delivers quality, inspiring designs for diverse project types. Our award-winning solutions address the evolving challenges of the built environment. We're seeking to add to our dynamic team and exciting work culture in either our Connecticut or Rhode Island office. Project Architect, minimum 8 years experience in an architectural practice: -Design-oriented, collaboration-based role to lead and execute projects directly with firm principals -Generate solutions and be a key part of the project team in delivering all drawings and documents required -BIM experience required (ArchiCAD experience preferred; we will train if proficient in Revit); use of 3-D visualization tools preferred -Technical expertise in architectural detailing of and an understanding of building codes for commercial and institutional projects, commensurate with years' experience indicated, is required -Role includes all facets of architectural project work, from conceptual design through construction administration, and engages with all project team members: clients, engineers, consultants and contractors -Ability to review drawings and other documents, demonstrating coordination skills and clarity of review mark-ups and notes, is key to this role -Architectural license in the jurisdiction of the office is preferred. -Experience with specification writing and construction cost estimating are highly beneficial in this role Architectural Designer, minimum 2 years experience in an architectural practice: -Design-oriented role to engage with project teams on drawings, 3-D visualization, other project documents, and materials, product and code research. -Recognize potential problems and investigate possible solutions with the project team -Work directly with principals and/or project architects in a collaborative, studio setting -BIM experience required (ArchiCAD experience preferred; we will train if proficient in Revit); use of 3-D visualization tools required -Knowledge-base of architectural work, including graphic, written and verbal clarity, and problem-solving skills, commensurate with years' experience indicated, is required. -Role includes all facets of architectural project work, and we encourage and will mentor and facilitate your involvement in the NCARB AXP internship development process. Our practice is constantly adapting to the ever-evolving digital world. We now use both major BIM software platforms (the USA dominant product and the European tool) to explore our project solutions. We use 3D modeling software for presentations and also hand sketches and physical models to quickly test and develop ideas for our private, public and institutional clients. NCA has built a reputation for delivering quality, innovative, award-winning projects. Our basic services encompass architecture, master planning, and sustainable design. Our work spans new designs, restorations and adaptive reuse with a special interest in cultural, municipal, hospitality, education and residential sectors. NCA is a highly motivated team of architects who work in a studio environment. Our professionals share and develop ideas critical for collaboration and develop efficient, cost cycle and buildable designs that inspire clients, stakeholders and the public. Newport Collaborative Architects and Bianco Giolitto Weston Architects merged in 2011 to create a northeast regional firm.
