We are proud to continue featuring our local nonprofits that received a holiday donation from Sierra Medical Center in support of their mission and vision of building a healthier community. Women and Children's Center of the Sierra works to help women escape poverty in order to provide a better life for themselves and their families. Services include a diaper bank, English as a second language courses (ESL), high school equivalency courses, employment preparation and job search assistance, crisis intervention, and free childcare for women while they participate in advancement classes. "The donation from Northern Nevada Health System will provide vital resources like diapers, food, and hygiene products, allowing us to serve even more women and children in need," said Junella Zuniga, co-executive director of Women and Children's Center of the Sierra. "Their support helps moms and children feel seen, valued and cared for, which is at the heart of what we do. This partnership means so much to our organization and the families we serve, as it strengthens our ability to create a healthier, more stable community."

Whether that is through food resources, case management or residential programs, CCSNN supports those in need in the Reno/Sparks and rural Nevada communities. “We are deeply grateful for this generous donation from Northern Nevada Health System, which will directly benefit our clients through our holiday programs,” said Marie Baxter, chief executive officer of Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada. “Contributions like these are vital in supporting the programs that serve those most in need in our community.”

We are proud to continue featuring our local nonprofits that received a holiday donation from Sierra Medical Center in support of their mission and vision of building a healthier community. CARE Chest of Sierra Nevada is an outstanding organization that offers medical resources to those in need in our community. Their team assists patients with medical equipment and supplies, prescriptions or diabetic medical resources, and we are proud to support those they serve. “We are incredibly grateful for Northern Nevada Health System’s generous gift this holiday season,” says Anne McNulty, executive director of CARE Chest. “Winter is always a busy time of year for us, and this gift will allow us to provide life-changing medical resources to nearly 200 Northern Nevadans in need.”

As we embrace the giving spirit of the holidays, Sierra Medical Center is proud to present a total of $30,000 dollars to local nonprofits to support their mission and vision of building a healthier community. Join us as we feature each of our four nonprofits in the coming days. First, we visited Veterans Guest House and presented them with this well-deserved donation. Their team does amazing work to support our veterans and their families as they receive medical care in our community. Whether that is through free lodging, transportation or help with basic needs, they are impacting those they serve in our community. As a military father with a son in the Navy, CEO Jordan Herget was especially honored to present the donation to the Veterans Guest House team. “We are honored to receive this generous donation from Northern Nevada Health System," said Sylvia Froslie, chief executive officer at Veterans Guest House. "Their wonderful gift directly supports veteran families facing medical need and highlights the strength of our special partnership.“
