A simple, low-cost step toward safer hydration. #MaterialsScience #CleanWater #Chemistry Key findings from the study: 👉 Cellulose tea bags work best—and don’t release microplastics. 👉 Longer steeping times absorb more metals—think iced tea, overnight brews, and strong infusions. 👉 Even a typical cup of tea can reduce lead levels by ~15%, offering an unexpected public health benefit. 🚨 New discovery alert! 🚨 Mercouri Kanatzidis and a team of researchers have uncovered exciting properties in the 2D chalcogenide BaSbTe₂S, making it a promising material for superconductivity and topological electronics. 🌟 Key Findings: 👉 Alternating Te square-net layers & rock-salt slabs trigger a charge density wave (CDW). 👉 Pressure suppression of the CDW induces superconductivity up to 7.5 K at 13.6 GPa! 👉 High mobility electron & hole bands suggest Dirac-like band dispersion.
