January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. A time to educate ourselves, raise awareness, and take action to end human trafficking. This month-long campaign highlights the importance of coming together to fight the exploitation of vulnerable individuals and to support those affected by trafficking. Human trafficking is a crime that impacts millions worldwide, yet it often goes unnoticed. It involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to exploit people for labor or sex. By learning the signs, spreading awareness, and advocating for change, we can play a role in preventing trafficking and protecting those at risk. Throughout January, we honor the resilience of survivors and the organizations, like Not For Sale, that work tirelessly to create a safer, more just world. Not For Sale works on the front lines of prevention and recovery, offering innovative solutions like job creation, safe housing, and reinvestment in communities to break the cycle of exploitation.
