This Thanksgiving, we are especially grateful for the extraordinary efforts of our team members and volunteers who rallied together in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Together, 94 Novant Health team members selflessly dedicated over 1900 hours to support our neighbors in Western North Carolina and: 💜 Served over 300 patients by offering onsite emergency and wellness care in addition to virtual pediatrics, obstetrics, behavioral health and more. 💜 Filled approximately 200 prescriptions. 💜 Administered about 750 vaccines to support the health and wellness of the community. Your hard work and kindness embody the true spirit of community, making a lasting impact when it mattered most—thank you.

Luke Miller’s journey at the St. Jude Affiliate Clinic at Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital began with a diagnosis of B cell lymphoblastic lymphoma in October 2021. He was just short of 3 years old. By the time he rang the bell to celebrate the end of treatment, he had spent nearly half his life with his incredible care team. Luke and his mom were so touched by their experience that they wrote a children’s book to help others understand the pediatric cancer journey—featuring Dr. Christine Bolen as the train’s conductor! The family surprised her with a copy during her Novant Health Foundation Guardian Angel pinning.
