Texas A&M-Fort Worth’s new Law and Education Building has topped off and facade installation is now underway. The $180 million facility will house the Texas A&M University School of Law of Law and provide space for the Texas A&M University System’s academic and workforce programs in Fort Worth, including healthcare and engineering. The project is expected to be completed in about a year. The building’s architect team is Stantec and Pelli Clarke & Partners, while its construction is being carried out by Turner Construction Company, CARCON Industries & Construction, Source Building Group Inc., and Dikita Enterprises, Inc. The Law and Education Building is the first phase of a three-phase development for Texas A&M’s Tier 1 research institute at the Downtown Fort Worth Campus. Phase II, the Research and Innovation Building, is currently in the design stage and will be located just north of the Law and Education Building (See post from last month for more details). Phase III, the Gateway Building, will replace the current two-story law school building on Commerce Street. The redevelopment of two 1960s garden-style apartment complexes near West 7th has received the green light following a lengthy discussion from Fort Worth City Council. A new mixed-income, mixed-use development is proposed by a partnership between Ojala Partners and Fort Worth Housing Solutions that would be developed in multiple phases, spanning into the 2030s, to replace the Spring Hill and Spring Glen complexes. The new construction would consist of 5-story wrap-style buildings, with the two buildings containing approximately 300 units.
