Spokane County Sheriff's Office RTCC has been up and running since August. It’s fairly new, but showing huge promise with its success stories. This was partially funded with the help of American Rescue Plan Act. Something to consider once departments get passed that initial launch is sustainable funding to keep the ship afloat. Check out this article and tell us where you’re at on your RTCC journey. #lawenforcement #technology #rtcc #nrtcca - https://lnkd.in/g9ruagVU

From a single person, one computer, and one radio, Cobb County transformed its crime center into a leading powerhouse in the nation. Want to know their secret to success? Thank you, Police1 and Katja Ridderbusch, for showcasing one of the most progressive and dedicated teams out there! It is no surprise we’re bringing our annual conference to Cobb County in 2025—because clearly, they know how to level up. https://lnkd.in/gy7HyZpg #leadersinlawenforcement #rtcc #nrtcca #technology #teamwork #powerhouse #cobbcounty
A huge thank you to Police1 and Katja Ridderbusch for taking time to highlight the incredible work being done at the Cobb County Police Department’s RTCC! 👏 Last year, Katja reached out to us, interested in meeting our team. At the time, we had just read her September 6th article on the nation’s first RTCC at the New York City Police Department, featuring Lt. Commander Mike Ricupero—and we absolutely loved it. We let her know she was always welcome in Cobb County. Well, she made the visit, and the result was a fantastic article that captures our journey from one person, one computer, and one radio to the dynamic team we have today, leveraging innovation to serve our community. Great technology is nothing without great people, like Major Stan Bell, Lieutenant David Thorp, RTCC Manager Carey Case, and the whole RTCC team! We’re grateful for the opportunity to share a piece of our story with you. Katja, thank you for the visit and you’re always welcome back to Cobb County. (There’s a NRTCCA Conference here in September! 😉) 🔗 Link to the article in the comments #futureofpolicing #publicsafety #technology #rtcc National Real Time Crime Center Association Cobb County Department of Public Safety #joinourteam JoinCobbPolice

Caity Peak coming in with the facts! Great post highlighting the balance between cutting-edge technology and community trust in public safety. Check out her key insights and helpful recommendations! 🔑💪🤝 #rtcc #leadersinlawenforcement #technology #communitysafety #relationships
How do we balance “approachability” with “cutting edge?” The last 10 years of public safety technology has shaped 21st century policing strategies, but we can’t leave behind the best parts of old school policing that make our citizens feel heard and included. Incorporating technology is a must, but it will fall short if you don’t maintain your community relationships. Some recommendations: 🥳: Bring your city manager to Flock Safety Forums 📲: Invite your city council to do sit alongs with your RTCC operators 🚒: Highlight how technology will support the response to uncontrollables - fires, tornadoes, and hurricanes - and partner with your fire friends! 🔎: Embrace transparency as a tool, not a requirement - like Elk Grove PD’s DFR Dashboard (https://lnkd.in/dWnmnAVj) or Tulsa Police Department’s Community Connect Page (https://lnkd.in/dCfV5RDd) 📣: Don’t be afraid to call out who your vendors are; let your community do their own research with sites like Flock’s Trust Center (https://lnkd.in/e-QPAuc7). If the vendors aren’t scared of transparency, you shouldn’t be either :) 🗣️: Collaborate. Learn. Be curious. Connect with your peers who work daily to solve the same problems you do. National Real Time Crime Center Association is a great start to stop reinventing the wheel. Plus, their board is pretty cool. 😎 ❤️: Direct your messaging not just to crime reduction, but community wellness as a whole. Technology is a tool for LE, Fire, and City Managers as a whole. How else do you embrace the whole community?

We are pleased to announce the creation of the National Real Time Crime Center Association California Workgroup! Predicated by the increasing number of real-time crime/information centers (RTICs) coupled with exponential growth in Law Enforcement technologies, the need for regional and state-specific collaboration is evident. Endorsed and sponsored by the NRTCCA, the California Workgroup will deliver a supportive and structured space for those managing existing RTICs or those building new units, regardless of rank or title. The workgroup will meet monthly, and agendas will include mini-trainings, agency report-outs, built-in time for current events and intelligence shares, and roundtable discussions. Spread the word and share with those who would benefit most from attending the meetings! Current NRTCCA California members will receive an email announcing the above.
