Our mission is to ensure that Texas is the partner of choice for accelerating national security problem solving.
About us
Our mission is to make Texas the partner of choice for accelerating national security innovation. We will take an ambitious and holistic approach in creating an operational model that sustains shared understanding of national security problems, constantly renews awareness of Texas-based entities who can solve those problems, and effectively guides activities to connect the two and enable solutions. The desired end state is an outcomes-based public-private consortium that drives, builds, and sustains a “whole-of-state” collaborative culture of innovation that rapidly offers solutions to difficult national security problems.

Congratulations to Del Mar College in City of Corpus Christi for being awarded $200k to expand the local cybersecurity workforce. This is part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) investment in 15 communities. With 400,000+ cybersecurity openings nationwide, this employment shortfall should receive greater national and state public attention but this is a start. Good on ya. Congrats to The University of Texas at El Paso & The University of Texas at Austin for winning shares of the $48MM National Science Foundation investment to expand participation in computing. UT long-time CS education leader Carol Fletcher led the effort for UT-Austins nearly $6MM effort through 2029, which works on policy, pathways and to serve as a national node for efforts. Ann Quiroz-Gates led the UTEP <$6MM effort, to focus on research practice to expand supports, to include at the graduate level. I'd encourage a look at the Army Software Factory as well, which is training full stack development in 6 months and embedding enlisted Soldiers in teams to accelerate skills development.
