  • 💜 “But you don’t look sick.” 💔 “Just eat a little more.” 💬 “It’s just a phase - you’ll grow out of it.” If only it were that simple. For someone struggling with an eating disorder, these words can feel like a wall - pushing them further into isolation, shame, and silence. Eating disorders aren’t about vanity or just food; they’re about control, deep emotions, and the weight of unspoken battles. And the hardest part? They often go unnoticed. So, what can we do? ✨ We can listen - without judgment, without assumptions. ✨ We can challenge harmful myths that make people feel invisible. ✨ We can create spaces where it’s safe to ask for help. During this #EatingDisorderAwarenessWeek let’s come together to replace stigma with empathy. To remind those who are struggling: You are not alone. You are worthy of support. Help is here. 📢 Let’s start the conversation. Because understanding saves lives. Ream more here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dm_mQWud

  • Healing feels different when it happens at home. Being in a familiar space and staying connected to the community, can make a world of difference. For autistic people, people with learning disabilities, and people facing mental health challenges, continuity of care and familiarity provide a sense of security that supports well-being. Receiving expert care at home helps maintain that stability, allowing people to feel comfortable, supported, and empowered in their recovery. • Smooth transitions from hospital to home are most successful when people are matched with the right support workers. By thoughtfully choosing support workers who align with a person’s needs and personality, we can create a more personalised and comfortable journey. This connection fosters trust and improves outcomes, ensuring the person feels truly supported. Ongoing communication helps provide consistent, compassionate care throughout the transition. That’s why we handpick each support worker, ensuring they not only have the right skills but also a genuine connection with the person, providing continuity and compassionate care at every step. • After nearly three decades in a mental health unit, for Lisa*, the journey to a place called home is filled with hope and the promise of a brighter future. But it also carries uncertainty, fears, and a fragile trust in the world beyond those walls. By integrating multimedia support-an innovative, person-centred approach-we were able to transform this transition into a smooth, natural, and positive experience, helping the person reconnect with their new environment in a meaningful way. Amy Butler, our PBS Specialist and Therapies Team Lead, shares how the personalised avatar created for Lisa together with Benjamin Andrew, our Multimedia Specialist helped her emotionally prepare for the change. Through this unique tool, Lisa saw her avatar travel in her own car, arrive at her new home, and even explore her space - dancing in the kitchen, enjoying meals, and feeling right at home. Multimedia doesn’t just tell a story - it helps individuals feel it deeply, providing emotional support that empowers them to embrace their future with joy and hope.
