Right now, Congress is considering cuts that would devastate mental health care access for tens of millions of Americans. This isn't some abstract policy - it's about real people being able to get help when they need it. 1 in 4 people with mental health needs relies on #Medicaid. It covers 40% of all addiction treatment. It helps millions of pregnant people, kids, veterans & working families get care. What a day at the Minnesota State Capitol! Yesterday, Minnesota’s mental health care community united to urge lawmakers to prioritize funding for mental health services. #TeamNystrom showed up in full force! I’m incredibly proud of the work we’re doing at Nystrom & Associates, Ltd. to support our clinicians and ensure Minnesotans have access to the mental health care that they need. Key Issues We’re Fighting For: ✅ Increase MN Medicaid reimbursement rates – Current rates cover only 40% of program costs in many cases. This is unsustainable. ✅ Halt further cuts to critical access providers until new rates are put in place. Rates for critical access providers (certified mental health clinics that see a significant number of Medicaid patients) were CUT this year by 12%, with further cuts planned for 2026 and 2027 totaling 24%. These cuts jeopardize care for those who need it most. Let's stop the cuts and start focusing on solutions instead. We need to increase reimbursement rates for mental health providers across the board. Mental health care is health care—we need to fund it accordingly. #mnleg Mark Peterson Greg Picker R. Our Mother-Baby Program Director, Samantha Huguelet, will be leading a training on Day 2 of Postpartum Support International in Bloomington, MN, on April 24th. We're so proud of her and her Mother-Baby team for the incredible work they do. In 2024, they served 240 patients, helping participants see a 56% reduction in depression symptoms and a 52% reduction in anxiety symptoms.
