https://lnkd.in/g8GeciWZ A recent article from BU Today, Boston University’s daily news website, posed the question, is it OK to stop worrying about #COVID? There have been over 111 million cases of #COVID19 in the United States since 2020, and approximately 1.2 million deaths. However, the article argues that deaths have plummeted since 2022. In 2020, there were 385,676 COVID deaths in the United States. In 2021, there were 463,267. In 2022, there were 246,166. In 2023, there were 49,928 deaths. Are we entering a new mindset?

Do you know that extreme #heat claims more lives each year than hurricanes or floods? With heat-related deaths projected to rise 370% by 2050, Oceanit is taking action. Originally developed for the U.S. Army, our #cooling suit now protects workers in construction and manufacturing. And our next-gen cooling software? It’s designed with smart sensors that monitor body temperature and heart rate, adjusting the cooling suit automatically to keep you cool and comfortable. #climatechange #fitness #innovation #health

#ThrowbackThursday to one of Oceanit’s early innovations: the Passive Physiological Monitor (P2M)! Back in 1999, we developed the P2M to help military medical teams monitor vital signs in challenging environments, like noisy MEDEVAC helicopters. Using a non-intrusive sensor, P2M could track heart rate, breathing, and blood pressure—even with intense vibrations. This project eventually launched Oceanit spinoff company, Hoana Medical. In this photo, we see Oceanit employees collecting test data on nurse volunteers at Triple Army Medical Center! #innovation #medicaltechnology #monitoring

https://lnkd.in/gtAFsbNt COVID-19 levels remain relatively low in November, but there is anticipation amongst experts of a probable winter surge, aligned with historical patterns. The CDC’s latest projections for the 2024-2025 season suggest that a COVID-19 infection trend could peak around the new year, matching the summer cases that led to a high early peak. #SpreadAlohaNotCOVID
