We empower veterans to carry forward American small businesses. | 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Foundation
About us
Owners In Honor is a veteran founded/ lead registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation in Houston, Texas. Our Founders and team of growing board members, advisors, veteran services partners, corporate partners, and government entities bring a dynamic range of expertise and support to the table. Our network spans leadership, entrepreneurship, and communication arenas unifying decades of experience, perspective, and accomplishments across both civilian and military communities. The OIH Approach Our Commitment is to Facilitate the Ascension of Veterans and Succession of Small Business Owners: Search/ Match: We curate relationships to match small business owners to Veterans and their families who are preparing to for their second act. Financing: We provide low interest rate gap financing to facilitate Veteran acquisition; to be used in conjunction with owner financing and an SBA loan. Technical Advising: Up to the point of eventual sale, we partner with the Veteran or Veteran Spouse and deliver a comprehensive suite of instruction, advisory services, mentorship, and post-exit planning. Two Communities, One Struggle. When it comes to one of the most challenging transitions they will face, the vast majority of retiring military personnel and exiting small business owners don’t have a plan - the longer they wait, the less vision, voice and value they have in the process. These once in-a-lifetime transitions should be filled with excitement and the promise of building on the past as they take on something new - but more often than not, both communities are left to feel like they are stuck and starting over. The Opportunity Create a pathway for Veterans and their families to purchase existing small businesses and successfully operate them until a planned exit. In the recent Forbes article, "10 Steps for Conducting an Insightful Social Media Sentiment Analysis", I shared a key insight: "Be Honest And Accept What You Find. A key step in social media sentiment analysis is to accept the truth of what you find. Be ready to adapt and respond, not just react. Use insights to take action. Celebrate what’s working and address issues directly. Responding thoughtfully rather than with knee-jerk reactions helps you refine your strategy, strengthen relationships, and align your brand with what your audience truly wants and needs." - Genine Fallon, Cold Bore Capital. It's an honor to contribute to this conversation and continue to highlight the importance of adaptability and authenticity in today’s marketing landscape.
