Real People. Compelling Wines. OBC imports, produces & markets wines from independent wineries around the globe.

About us

In this age of ‘big company’ buyouts, increasing consolidation and mass production, Old Bridge Cellars brings to you a group of fiercely independent winemakers who retain their belief in artisan winemaking. Coming to know their land through the generations before them, they have an intuitive understanding, quiet confidence and desire to produce only the best they can from each vintage. In standing resolute behind their own style, they’ve established themselves as regional pioneers, benchmarks and leaders alike, universally acclaimed by wine critics across the globe. Representing these highly sought after, compelling wines since 1990, Old Bridge Cellars has become the US importer of choice for iconic Australian wines. Our portfolio is anchored in Australia, yet also reaches internationally through long standing relationships with vintners in many of the world’s most applauded winemaking regions. Our parameters remain, simply, that the wineries we represent are true to their regions and true to themselves. They necessarily share a deep commitment to good land stewardship, preserving their independence, and respecting their regional heritage, all the while embracing the international wine world as their quality yardstick. We see as our mission the championing of these winemakers who give everything in their pursuit of truly distinctive, regionally defined styles that sit comfortably with the world’s best. And who believe they can do it even better the next vintage!

  • Happy Merlot Day! Along with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, Merlot is one of the primary grapes used in Bordeaux wine, and it is the most widely planted grape in the Bordeaux wine regions. This beautiful wine is 100% Merlot, made from vines planted in one south-west facing five-acre block at Clos Cantenac in St. Emilion, Bordeaux. The wine sees 18 months in 100% French oak barrels before bottling. On the palate, its elegance derives from the finessed register of lush fresh berries and brambly flavors, coffee beans, mocha and soft tannins, finishing with a sleek minerality. It is a wine of classic structure and a touch of mystique. #merlotday #merlotme #wine #merlot #redwine #winebusiness #importedwine

  • Happy International Champagne Day! We celebrate this global tribute to one of the most iconic and luxurious beverages in the world with a glass of Champagne Collet! 🥂 While many sparkling wines exist, Champagne has a special place in the world of beverages due to its strict regulations and geographic exclusivity. Only sparkling wine produced in the Champagne region using the traditional method can legally be called Champagne. Champagne Collet was founded in 1921 in the heart of Aÿ, a UNESCO World Heritage Site within the Valée de la Marne growing region famous for Pinot Noir and one of Champagne’s 17 Grand Crus. From the beginning, Champagne Collet has identified itself with the Art Deco period that became popular in France after World War I. The creative wave unleashed by the Art Deco style was the perfect accompaniment to the joy and zest for life in the 1920s and remains part of the attraction to Champagne in the present day. Cheers to #InternationalChampagneDay!

  • Greywackers on Tour! This Friday, Kevin Judd, proprietor/winemaker of Greywacke Vineyards in Marlborough, New Zealand will be presenting his Top 10 wine of 2023 (2022 Sauvignon Blanc/Wine Spectator) to attendees of the New York Wine Experience. Leading up to this special moment of recognition for Greywacke, winemaker Richelle Tyney has been traveling throughout the USA sharing back vintages of Greywacke Wild Sauvignon to members of the trade, highlighting its age-worthiness. Greywacke Wild Sauvignon derives its particular characteristics from a very natural, hands-off style of winemaking that is the result of many years of winemaking experience. To demonstrate that this special genre of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc not only ages well, but in fact benefits from a number of years in the bottle - gaining more complexity and interest with time - Greywacke offered “5 wild years” of Wild Sauvignon, dating back to the 2011 vintage. Thank you to those who joined us for these events in Chicago, Boston and NYC. #winelife #13yearoldsauvignonblanc #ageworthy #wine

  • Now available: Starting with the 2022 vintage, the Cru Beaujolais wines from Maison l’Envoyé sport a more refined look. Previously packaged with red labels, these wines are now bottled with a premium off-white paper stock with more textural grain. Also, you may notice that the wine name holds stronger emphasis to better call out ENVOYÉ, and this word is in color to increase visibility. The woodblock graphics remain an essential component connoting a hand-made, artisanal wine. Since these wines are primarily available in the USA, the varietal now has a more prominent place on the front label. At $21 SRP, they remain a veritable bargain. #winelife #labelrefresh #importedwine #drinkbojo

  • We are thrilled to have Chester Osborn from d'Arenberg on US soil after a far-too-long hiatus. He started the week in San Francisco, sharing current and library wines with distributors and buyers, with the next stop in Boston. The 2010 single site Grenache was a crowd favorite, proving the age-ability of these McLaren Vale wines. Next stop – the Big Apple! #roadshow #winemaker #worktravel #sharingwine #sharingstories #oldvines #oldvinegrenache #shiraz
