Feeling truly privileged to have attended the First Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Society Regional Meeting - India 2025, at JNCASR where the forefront of nucleic acid-based therapeutics took center stage. Coming from a pure biology background, it was an absolute pleasure to be part of discussions that not only deepened my understanding of nucleic acid research but also broadened my perspective on its transformative potential. The conference provided a fantastic platform to explore how these innovations can be incorporated into research, broadening perspectives and opening new possibilities. A heartfelt thank you to Muthiah (Mano) Manoharan sir and Prof. Krishna Ganesh sir for making this platform accessible to students like me, giving us the chance to engage with groundbreaking research from both academia and industry. A special thanks to Prof. David Corey sir, for his inspiring and thought-provoking talk on the future of nucleic acid medicine and miRNA therapeutics was truly exhilarating. It was an absolute honor to discuss with him the many ways to explore miRNA’s role in post-transcriptional gene regulation and uncover new approaches to studying its targets. Conversations like these are not just insightful but deeply motivating, reinforcing my excitement for the future of this field.

The OTS-India Nucleic Acid Therapeutics Regional Delivery Meeting was a huge success. We had about 350 participants from India and abroad, many who were from Nucleic acid and the related pharma industry. This meeting included 38 speakers, 80 poster presentations, 8 company presentations, and 14 short talks by emerging investigators and students. These speakers represented industrial, academic, and regional balance. In 2024, the Food and Drug Administration Center for Drug Evaluation approved 50 new small molecules, biologics, and oligonucleotide therapies.
