📌Understanding Trade Show Rules & Regulations: A Human Approach   Navigating the world of trade shows can feel daunting, especially with the myriads of rules and regulations that vary by state, city, and venue. But don’t worry—being informed is the first step toward a smooth and successful experience!   At Accordex, we’re committed to helping our clients understand and navigate these complexities. Here are some key points to keep in mind:   1. Show Manuals are Your Best Friend Most trade show rules can be found in the official show manual, usually available on the event's website. Reviewing this document thoroughly before the show is essential.   2. Display Guidelines Each exhibit space comes with specific display rules outlining what you can and cannot do. These guidelines often cover everything from height and construction materials to graphics and how your space interacts with neighboring exhibits. Familiarizing yourself with these can help you avoid any surprises!   3. City and State Labor Regulations  Many convention centers have labor union agreements, meaning that the contractors you work with may need to hire union labor. This can affect labor rates and minimum work times, which can vary significantly depending on the location. Also, be aware that you might not be allowed to perform certain tasks, such as setting up electrical equipment, on your own.   4. Venue-Specific Rules  Every venue has its own set of regulations. For example, the rules at The Venetian Expo in Las Vegas may differ from those at the Javits Center in New York.
