👨🚀🌔Astronaut Bill Anders passed away this morning at the age of 90, in a plane crash 🙏He was the author of the famous “Earthrise” photo below, taken during the Apollo 8 mission of which he was the pilot, on December 24, 1968. Apollo 8 was the first mission to take humans around the Moon. This mission, unique in the history of mankind and life, required infinite courage on the part of this crew. Of the 24 Apollo astronauts, only 6 are still alive. Of these, 4 walked on the Moon and can still testify to this. This photo, taken after passing behind the hidden face, revealed the splendor of the Earth above the bleak lunar surface. “Earthrise” and “Blue Marble” (taken in 1972) are emblematic photos of the Apollo program and mark the beginning of the era of planetary consciousness. Today, we are flying over the Earth, as it appeared to the Apollo 11 astronauts during the Trans-lunar coast, about ten hours into the mission. Seneca was a Roman Stoic philosopher, statesman, dramatist, and—in one work—satirist from the Silver Age of Latin literature. Seneca was born in Corduba in Hispania, and raised in Rome, where he was trained in rhetoric and philosophy. Naturales quaestiones is a Latin work of natural philosophy written around 65 AD.
