  • Twelve years ago, Shell promised local communities that the construction of a massive plastic plant would spur economic growth in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. But a recent report from Ohio River Valley Institute reveals that Beaver County is worse off today— with fewer jobs, businesses, and residents in the region —than it was before Shell announced its plans to build this towering facility. And the bad report card doesn’t end there. Within six months of starting operations, the plant also exceeded its 12-month emission limit, leaving Beaver County residents to shoulder the health costs associated with excessive pollution. Enough is enough. Visit https://only.one/act/shell now to #HoldShellAccountable.

  • 📢 New Zealanders have spoken — loud and clear. A new survey reveals that the vast majority of Kiwis support expanding marine protected areas and upholding Aotearoa’s commitment to protect 30% of its ocean by 2030. 🌊 The concern is real. 69% are worried about the health of the ocean and threats like plastic pollution, overfishing, and climate change. And 71% think marine protection policies should be prioritised. Despite strong public support, the Government is making decisions that weaken vital ocean protections — allowing commercial fishing in areas meant to safeguard marine life and ensure a healthy ocean for future generations. Join us by calling on NZ leaders to listen to the people and prioritise the future of our marine ecosystems — starting with the Hauraki Gulf / Tīkapa Moana. Link in bio.

  • Bottom trawling is responsible for over 90% of fishing discards in the EU — hundreds of thousands of tons of wasted catch that devastate marine ecosystems and economies alike. Today, ocean advocates are uniting to demand action: It’s time for EU leaders to #ProtectOurCatch, support traditional fishers, and #BanBottomTrawling in marine protected areas (MPAs). Every day this destructive practice continues in Europe’s MPAs is another day our leaders put local jobs, communities, marine life, and the future of the fishing industry at risk.

  • 🚨BREAKING: A new poll reveals public perception on the plight of African Penguins. 82% of participants would vote for leaders who pledge to save endangered species such as the African Penguin. 🐧 Over 60% would feel devastated by the extinction of this iconic species. Without immediate government action, the African Penguin, could vanish from the wild by 2035. • It was QUITE an impactful year: We grew our movement of millions advocating for the ocean and planet. We helped advance crucial marine protections around the world. We planted tens of thousands of corals and mangroves. We raised our voices with new petitions, comments, and letters to decision-makers. We made a real difference. Thank you all for being a part of this adventure we started just a few short years ago. We’re so excited to have you on board as we grow, strengthen, and continue to make our blue world a healthier and more sustainable one. 🐙🥂 To 2025 and beyond!

  • The difference is obvious. And the solution is clear: Use your voice and demand that ‘protected areas’ are truly protected. You can reach out to key decision-makers on this issue in just 30 seconds with our easy email tool — we’ve even written a letter that you can personalise. Together, we can help save the Hauraki Gulf / Tīkapa Moana. Take action at https://lnkd.in/gAGVzxur
