I graduated from Stanford in June and moved to San Francisco to start my post-grad life which meant furnishing my very first apartment. Anyone who's gone through the process of designing a new space knows exactly how it goes. It starts with an upward curve of excitement – endless inspiration, Pinterest boards, and grand visions. Then reality hits: endless scrolling through mismatched search results, budget constraints, and decision fatigue. What begins as an exciting creative project devolves into an overwhelming puzzle. That's why I've been introducing friends to Onton's Imagine tool as they decorate their new spaces. It's the most efficient, budget-friendly, and genuinely fun way to bring your design vision to life. Simply write a prompt describing your ideal space (the more specific, the better!), and watch as the tool generates images that match your vision. But here's the best part: spot furniture you love in these generated images? We'll instantly match you with similar pieces from our vast catalog of products. Plus, you can filter everything by color, price, and material to find exactly what you're looking for. Try it out and see what you think! https://lnkd.in/gzFHbMrq

The best lessons don't come from textbooks. In my case, they come from having 37 browser tabs open during lectures, scrolling through countless pages of fashion sites, and building Pinterest boards. One day I'd browse Pinterest for 'red grey outfits,' the next I'd scavenge Depop for 'Y2K prom dress.' Occasionally someone seeing my frantic scrolling would laugh and wonder what I was doing. But little did they know, I was onto something even then. I've always been aspirational about shopping, and while it might have seemed like a silly distraction, I was actually honing valuable skills. I became really good at searching for the best deals, identifying trends, and discovering products that were hard to find elsewhere. Fast forward to today, that passion has turned into a career! I'm thrilled to share that I've joined Onton as part of their Growth team. What draws me to Onton is their vision for the future of shopping engines—personalized, tailored recommendations without all the SEO gimmicks or intrusive ads. Onton has the largest online catalog of home decor and furniture, and I can't wait for you to see how easy it is to find exactly what you need. Check it out for yourself: https://lnkd.in/gjRnm_xp And, for a little fun, if you're looking for inspired design ideas for your space, try the Imagine tool. Add a vibrant painting or eye-catching chandelier to instantly elevate your space. 🟢 Embrace modular furniture. Opt for versatile pieces that can easily adapt to different layouts and keep up with changing trends. 🟠 Stick to a neutral palette. • Dreaming of the perfect oceanside oasis right in your own home? Then bring the shore to your couch with Coastal style 🌊 Inspired by the gentle curves and flowing movement of beach waves, Coastal style is the perfect choice to bring a touch of nautical charm and serenity to your sanctuary. Here are four easy ways to incorporate this timeless design into your home: 1️⃣ Combine textures to give your room layers and movement. Try using different materials for your rugs, blinds, pillows, and decor. 2️⃣ Embrace natural light. Skip heavy, dark coverings on windows and skylights — instead, opt for airy fabrics or woven blinds. 3️⃣ Add visual interest to neutral spaces with pops of color. Think blue and green sea glass, coastal grasses, pastel flowers, and vases featuring blue-and-white organic patterns. 4️⃣ Keep it simple and uncluttered. Coastal style is peaceful, warm, and breezy. Avoid adding too many knicknacks, especially on tables and counters. Check out more Coastal style design tips here: https://lnkd.in/getCU7-e

  • Pinterest is the mecca for gorgeous interior pictures that inspire and empower home designers to show off their skills ✨ Looking to gain some clout on the platform yourself but unsure where to begin? Here are 5 quick tips from someone who has made a living showcasing beautiful homes through a camera lens, real estate guru Yoko Kasai: 🛋️ Start with smart staging Arrange your furniture and decor in a way that highlights your space's most appealing features while drawing attention away from blemishes like chipped paint or worn flooring. 📷 Choose the right equipment It's common for amateur photographers to assume they need high-end gear to take stunning photos. The reality? The only equipment you'll need is your smartphone or a moderately priced digital camera. 🖼️ Nail your composition The arrangement of visual elements within your camera frame is just as important as staging. Use the Rule of Thirds to divide your space into 3 sections and position key pieces at the intersection of each grid line. 💎 Don't be afraid to use an editing app You don't need to fully overhaul your photos once you've snapped them. But a bit of fine-tuning is enough to correct lighting inconsistencies, make colors pop, and bring out the unique elements within your space. ⚙️ Consider a modern interior design tool If you've got a brilliant idea for a new layout or design style but want to visualize it before taking the leap, Yoko recommends using Onton. With Onton, you can create photorealistic renditions of your new space in seconds, helping convey the true essence of your home through your photos. • Thanks to its timeless authenticity, Japanese interior style has captivated designers across the globe for decades. Looking to inject this style into your space? Here are three key elements that will help get you there: 🌱 The principle of Zen: When designing your space, draw inspiration from the surrounding world, relish the little moments, and invite reflection. 🌿 The concept of Ma: Japanese design is deeply rooted in the notion of empty space, known as "Ma." Ma creates a subtle balance between objects and open areas, bringing a sense of calm and peacefulness. 🍃 The philosophy of Wabi-Sabi: This principle of finding beauty in imperfection is at the heart of Japanese design. Embrace the blemishes in vintage furniture and natural elements like plants or stone to achieve this effect.
