  • 🎄 A Festive Night on Main Street Barnstable! 🎶 OpenCape was thrilled to be part of the Barnstable Village Winter Stroll, where we handed out fun trinkets for kids and shared what we’re doing to support our community. As a proud sponsor of the Cape Chorale carolers 🎵, we helped bring the joy of live holiday music to the evening, adding to the magical atmosphere. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat or enjoy the festivities. This season, we’re reminded of how important connection is—both online and in our communities. Happy Holidays from all of us at OpenCape! 🎅✨ ✨P.S. A big thank you to our team members who volunteered to represent OpenCape at the event—it was chilly 🥶 out there, and we appreciate your dedication! #CommunityConnection #HolidaySpirit #HolidayFestivities #SupportLocal #LiveMusic

A Heartfelt Thank You As we reflect on all we have to be thankful for, I want to take a moment to highlight one group in particular—our OpenCape customers, both large and small. THANK YOU for placing your trust in us to power your business and for helping us build something truly impactful. Just before 3:30 PM on Thanksgiving Eve, a Google review popped into my inbox, and I’ll admit I was deep into turkey prep at the time—but reading that review made me pause and reflect on what we've accomplished together. When I say we, I mean all of us—our dedicated staff, our customers, our Board of Directors, our vendors, our legislators, and everyone who has played a part in nurturing this 700+ mile fiber network that provides essential service to our region. Our success is not just about technology; it’s about community support. Every business that connects to OpenCape or switches from a commercial provider helps us take another step forward—whether it's connecting a non-profit, upgrading the network, or creating another well-paying local job. This success is entirely built on the collective effort of all of us. So to every customer, thank you. You are a vital part of this journey. With Giving Tuesday just around the corner, yes, you can make a donation to OpenCape on our website—but what I would really love is if you would help us grow by asking a friend, a fellow business owner, or someone you do business with or someplace you shop (yes there are still lots of businesses who don't use us) to connect to OpenCape . It’s the best way to ensure that we can continue expanding this network and strengthening our region. Thank you again for your ongoing support. We couldn’t do it without you.

  • Beware of Fake USPS Texts! Can you believe this? I’ve received three fake USPS text messages in the week asking me to confirm my address. 🚨 Don’t fall for it! The USPS will never ask for personal information via text. Always verify details directly through their website or app. It’s surprising that this scam still works, but it’s a good reminder to stay alert and protect yourself. Another Scam to Watch Out For 📞 Phone Call Alert: “This is Amazon. Your order didn’t go through; we need more information.” ⚠️ Scammers may ask for sensitive details like the last 4 digits of your Social Security number. Don’t give it to them—hang up immediately! Amazon rarely calls customers, and they will never ask for personal information like your Social Security number or banking details over the phone. Check out the graphic to see the actual SCAM text and more online safety tips. #USPS #ScamAlert #Cybersecurity #OnlineSafety #HolidayShopping
