A lot of founders talk about feeling lonely. But since building Inspired, I’ve never felt that way. I’ve thought about this a lot, especially because I know that loneliness is a real challenge for many founders out there. And I wondered…why have I felt all the highs and lows of growing a company but not that sense of isolation? Then I came across the Japanese concept of ikigai, which translates to “a reason for being.” It’s about finding that sweet spot where four things overlap: what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for. When all these pieces come together, you’re complete. And that’s how I feel about Inspired. For the first time, I’m not missing a piece. I love the mission, I feel the impact, and I believe this is something the world truly needs. Plus, we’re building a model that makes sense for charities, brands, and for us as a company. There’s a balance there that I’d never experienced before. Maybe that’s why I’ve never felt alone on this journey – because I’ve found my ikigai. If you’re on a path that feels lonely, I’d encourage you to think about what pieces might be missing. Because when everything’s in place, it feels different. Complete.
