This year, the team from BASE Engineering continued their annual Christmas tradition of sponsoring families from Glen Falls Elementary School in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. BASE employees, along with their neighbors at Victory Advanced Technologies, donated funds to support the effort. Office Administrator Fran McDevitt took the lead by collecting items and assembling holiday boxes for nine families. The boxes were filled with winter clothing, some games and activities, everything families need for Christmas dinner and festive snacks to enjoy throughout the holiday season. The RegO® Products Community Service Team in Conover, NC, spread holiday joy this season by sponsoring seven preschool children in the community whose families needed a little extra help for Christmas. Each department adopted a child and thoughtfully shopped for their needs and wishes. Introducing the next generation of young leaders to careers in STEM is critical to the industry. And for the team at BASE Engineering, it couldn’t be more exciting! This year, Engineering Manager Tina Desjardins brought her love for engineering to a STEM program at Glen Falls Elementary School in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. A group of students dove into the world of engineering by designing and building their own catapults, programming a robotic mouse to move through a maze and so much more! In December, the STEM program students visited the BASE facility, took a tour, met the team and saw the magic of engineering up close. Of course, with the holidays approaching, they also had some fun goodies to bring home, including keychains 3D printed on-site with their school logo!
