OTTERS research partner Dori Edelist will present a poster featuring research findings on jellyfish blooms in Israel at the upcoming Israeli Association for Aquatic Science (IAAS) meeting, to be held in Eilat, Israel, on December 4-5, 2024. The paper, entitled "Seasonality of Gelatinous Zooplankton in the Israeli Mediterranean" investigates the seasonal patterns of these organisms in the Mediterranean Sea near Israel. The third #PlasticPiratesSummit workshop centred around the question how to scale and coordinate citizen science efforts within the EU Mission Ocean aimed at advancing water and ocean restoration. In the course of the session, participants compiled best practices and tools from various projects they had been involved in earlier. They discussed the challenges they experienced and sat together to work on strategies to overcome them in the future. Moreover, participants joined activities to co-design roadmaps for scaling up initiatives and developed recommendations for sustainable citizen science projects. A big thank you to all participants and OTTERS Project for the lead of this important workshop.
