About us
Oakland University's School of Engineering and Computer Science offers instruction leading to degrees at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels. Offered programs are: Bioengineering, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The overall mission of the School of Engineering and Computer Science is threefold: 1) To provide high-quality undergraduate and graduate programs of instruction in engineering and computer science to prepare graduates for careers in the coming decades, 2) To advance knowledge through basic and applied research in relevant branches of engineering and computer science, and 3) To provide service to both the engineering profession and public of the State of Michigan. ⚙️This Golden Grizzlies Going Places⚙️: “I spoke with Stellantis at the Engineering and IT Career Fair and I was interested in obtaining a summer internship role with them. Time passed and I received no further contact from them. However, I got an email stating that Stellantis would be conducting on-campus interviews and that I could be considered for one if I applied. This was a perfect opportunity. I applied and was selected for an interview. To prepare, I went straight to the SECS Career and Life Design Team. Congratulations to Dr. Huirong Fu and Dr. Jun Chen for receiving 2024 awards from Oakland University's Research Office! Dr. Fu was honored with the Research-Led Teaching Award, recognizing her outstanding ability to integrate research into instruction. This award also highlights her achievement of receiving the highest instructional funding in 2024. Dr. Chen was recognized with two prestigious honors. The Xiangqun Zeng Most Active Grant Seeker Award acknowledges his leadership in submitting the highest number of federal proposals this year. Additionally, the Most Research Active Award celebrates his accomplishment of securing the highest total number of external grants in 2024.
