In terms of SEO, keywords are the words and phrases that define your content. When someone goes to a search engine, they type in keywords, or "search queries", which connects what people are searching for and the content you provide. When building a website, keywords matter because the keywords you choose will define the kind of audience you attract and determine how much organic traffic your website gains. But the keywords you choose for your website, whether it's for your homepage, a blog post, or even pictures you're adding to your website, have to be relevant to your website content. Take Mars Bars for example (yes, the candy bar). If they tried to rank for just the word "mars", they might rank high on search engines, but they'll get wildly different results. People searching for "mars" might be looking for something related to the planet, Mars, rather than the candy bar, while others are looking for what they want people to be searching for, AKA the Mars Bar. So, it's important to think about the searchers' intent and align that as best as you can to the types of keywords you use. #keywords #seo #marketing

A website serves as a customer's first impression for every business owner. Having a visually appealing website will help attract visitors to your site while encouraging them to take action, whether it's buying your product or signing up for your email newsletter. While it's not necessary for every business owner to become a web designer, there are a few web design basics we think everyone should know: Less is More: Keep your website content clear and concise while leaving plenty of white space to separate different elements, which will help improve your site's overall readability. Prioritize Readability: Make sure your website is easy to read. This will also affect how search engines like Google will rank your website in search results. Use Consistent Branding: Maintaining a cohesive brand across all pages of your website establishes a sense of professionalism and trust with your audience. Optimize for Mobile Devices: A broken website on a cell phone will deter visitors from staying on your website, let alone returning to it. The easiest way to do that is by utilizing responsive design elements and a grid system, which will ensure your site will adapt to different screen sizes. Did you know we created the PSP Children's Foundation in 2012 as a response to the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami? We were incredibly saddened by the destruction it created, which included almost 16,000 deaths, and we wanted to do more than just donate to the Red Cross. So, we decided we'd not only ask others to donate, but we'd match their donations granted they sent us a receipt and allocated $2,000 for this matching. That $2,000 donation was made within a day, so we increased that amount to $5,000. By the time we finished this donation spree, people had sent us over $10,000 in receipts. Even after that, we wanted to do even more. So, we got in touch with the school district in Tohoku and we flew in ten children and two teachers to Seattle to stay for ten days and paid for all of their trip fees. Those children lost both or one of their parents, and we got some of our local community involved as well. The Bellevue Children's Academy opened their school for them to study free of charge, Microsoft and Google invited them to tour their campuses, Microsoft gave each child an Xbox to take home, the Seattle Mariners invited them to a game and gave them a stadium tour, and the Puget Sound Coach Line took them sightseeing to places like Mt. Rainer. We could not be more proud of the work we've been able to achieve with the PSP Children's Foundation, not just in response to the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, but we also made it easier for people to donate to the earthquake relief fund last year after the Noto earthquake. https://buff.ly/4fILMxR #business #donation #smallbusiness
