The Palestinian American Bar Association (PABA) is dedicated to fostering legal excellence, advocacy, and community engagement within the Palestinian American legal community. Our mission is to promote the common interests and business conditions of Palestinian American legal professionals, including peace, justice, tolerance, understanding, human rights, and equality for Palestinians both in the United States and abroad. PABA seeks to provide a platform for legal professionals of Palestinian descent to connect, collaborate, and contribute to the advancement of the rule of law and the practice of law in the United States. Through educational initiatives, scholarships, mentorships, networking opportunities, legal aid programs, and advocacy efforts, we aim to empower and represent Palestinian American attorneys and law students, while also promoting a deeper understanding of the legal and human rights challenges faced by Palestinians in the United States and abroad. PABA is committed to upholding the principles of justice, fairness, and equality, and to leveraging the legal profession as a force for positive change in various contexts that impact Palestinian communities. We aim to address legal challenges, promote human rights, and contribute to social justice causes with a focus on fostering a world where the rights and dignity of Palestinians are recognized and protected.

Congratulations to FAJR Scientific and PABA member Dainia Jabaji on FAJR's first medical evacuation. FAJR Scientific, a US-based 501(c)(3) humanitarian organization led by persons of Palestinian heritage, has successfully completed its first medical evacuation of critically injured patients to the U.S. FAJR worked closely with PABA member Dainia Jabaji of Winston & Strawn LLP, who serves as FAJR's pro bono counsel. FAJR was introduced to Dainia in the spring of this year through another PABA member. Since then, Dainia has worked hand-in-hand with FAJR on various matters, including on their first medical evacuation case of 12-year old Mazyouna Damo. Dainia had been working closely with FAJR on Maz's evacuation since July, and the team faced numerous obstacles in getting her exit approved. Maz's case was denied five times without explanation. Finally, on November 12, Israel's COGAT approved of the exit. Maz, her mom, and sister were successfully evacuated the next day. Maz will undergo treatment in Texas, along with a few other patients FAJR successfully evacuated. PABA extends a big congratulations to the FAJR team for the hard work and determination in completing this mission.
PABA congratulates Amir Ali on his historic confirmation to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia! As the first Arab American to hold this position, Amir has made the entire Arab American community incredibly proud. His achievement marks significant progress in representation within the legal profession!
The U.S. Senate has confirmed Amir H. Ali to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, making him the first Arab American to serve in this role. Ali is also the first NAABA member to ascend to the federal bench. See our full statement below. Congratulations & Mabrook!

The Arab American Bar Association of Illinois has partnered with Arab American Family Services (AAFS) for another Thanksgiving Dinner Drive this year. We are still working toward our goal of purchasing Thanksgiving dinners for over 150 families.
