🌾Digital Vouchers Bring Hope to Farmers in Southern Haiti🌾 In Camp-Perrin, farmers are overcoming challenges such as natural disasters and security risks with the help of PADF and AIDONIC. Through innovative digital vouchers, nearly 1,000 households are now able to access essential tools to rebuild their farms and futures. ✨ El 17 de enero de 2025, se firmó el convenio para la implementación del proyecto Galápagos es Ana en un evento liderado por Lavinia Valbonesi, Primera Dama de Ecuador, junto a representantes de PADF, Fundación Ana y la Oficina Comercial de Taipei. 🤝 Este proyecto busca empoderar a mujeres emprendedoras en las Islas Galápagos, promoviendo su independencia económica, la sostenibilidad ambiental y la prevención de la violencia de género. 🔗 Más información https://bit.ly/3WtpdWz

🌟 Construyendo un futuro más seguro a través de la innovación 🌟 El 18 de diciembre de 2024, PADF realizó el primer taller de robótica para niños y jóvenes en el Espacio Cívico de Paz y Convivencia en Manta, Ecuador. Esta iniciativa piloto aplica una metodología innovadora basada en la arquitectura social y el uso de la inteligencia colectiva, herramientas esenciales para recopilar información estratégica y diseñar soluciones adaptadas a las necesidades de cada comunidad. este taller no solo fomenta habilidades tecnológicas, sino que también actúa como una estrategia de prevención frente al reclutamiento forzado.

The Dominican Republic Sentencing Commission launched its work with a technical exchange in Miami and Washington, DC, exploring U.S. federal sentencing guidelines to improve transparency, reduce disparities, and address backlogs. Commission members, including judges, prosecutors, defenders, and academics, observed federal hearings and met with the U.S. Sentencing Commission, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and the Probation Office to learn best practices for achieving fair and efficient sentencing outcomes. Día Internacional del Migrante 🤝 En colaboración con la Secretaría de Bienestar Social, PADF llevó a cabo un taller sobre la detección de víctimas de trata de personas en la ruta migratoria. 🏠 Personal de los albergues y sedes departamentales de Escuintla, Chimaltenango, Sacatepéquez, Zacapa y Guatemala participaron en esta iniciativa cuyo objetivo principal fue capacitar al personal para detectar y mitigar la trata de personas migrantes.

En la comuna de #ChiguiriArriba, Coclé, PADF y nuestro socio APTSO llevaron a cabo con éxito su primer bootcamp, brindando a los emprendedores habilidades esenciales en turismo sostenible y regenerativo, así como en gestión empresarial de actividades turísticas. Con el apoyo de U.S. Department of State, estas iniciativas están ayudando a fortalecer el tejido social y la resiliencia de las comunidades locales.

Last Monday (December 9), leaders from the financial sector gathered in São Paulo (SP), Brazil, for the event Security for Investment - Due Diligence in Human and Environmental Rights in the Cattle Ranching Sector. Organized by the UN Global Compact – Brazil Network, in partnership with the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) and supported by the U.S. Department of State, the meeting fostered discussions on sustainable practices in the livestock production chain, focusing on risk reduction and the safeguarding of human rights. The event featured Rachel Poynter, Principal Deputy Director of the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons at the U.S. Department of State, who emphasized the importance of an integrated approach to addressing human and environmental rights violations in supply chains. Poynter also reaffirmed the United States' commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at due diligence in strategic sectors such as cattle ranching.  Another highlight was the participation of Luciana Nicola, director at Itaú Unibanco, who emphasized the private sector's role in leading ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices to promote more responsible and sustainable supply chains. The event aimed to develop a guiding document to enhance risk assessment protocols and promote fair working conditions within the livestock production chain, particularly in the state of Pará. The Brazil Network of the UN Global Compact, the second-largest local network in the world, has been leading initiatives since 2003 to align business operations with universal human rights principles.
