Pssst... Did you catch our Interview with Erik Kondo? We had an incredible chat with Erik, and guess what? We turned it into an article. But… did you read it yet? 😱 If not, you're missing out on some seriously insightful moments from one of the most brilliant people we know. Trust us, this isn't your average interview, it's packed with real stories, raw experiences, and advice that hits differently. For those of you who have; what stood out to you the most? Or if you haven't read it yet, go check it out now via the link below, and come back to drop a comment with your favorite "aha!" moment. https://lnkd.in/ddGPuyzM Picture Description: An image graphics featuring Erik Kondo on the left and a quote from him on the right. The Quote: “Designers tend to fall in love with their technology, but the truth is that many of these ideas aren’t rooted in what persons with disabilities actually need.” #Accessibility #MobilityMatters #ErikKondo #Empowerment

Accessibility means making things easy to use and understand for everyone, regardless of their abilities. It’s about removing barriers that prevent people from fully participating in everyday life.♿️ For example, a ramp instead of stairs allows someone using a wheelchair to enter a building with ease. Accessibility also extends to websites that are user-friendly for people with visual impairments and clear, simple instructions that everyone can follow. Take Alice, for instance. With her Cub wheelchair, she’s not just getting around, she’s living her best life. From participating in play activities, and attending therapy sessions far from home, her wheelchair gives her the freedom to explore the world on her own terms. At Participant Assistive Products, we don’t just make wheelchairs; we create opportunities for kids to break barriers and reach for the stars. Because when accessibility wins, everyone wins.👍 #AccessibilityForAll #InclusiveDesign #AssistiveTechnology #MobilityMatters #DisabilityAwareness #DisabilityInclusion

I met Erik Kondo at the International Seating Symposium in 2023. It was fun to see which of his wheelchair designs he’d show up with each day! We need more fun in this industry😁 #wheelchairdesign #mobility
From Wooden Pallets to DIY wheelchairs!♿ Erik Kondo is flipping the wheelchair game on its head.😀 Forget overpriced materials and flashy industry gimmicks, he’s turning wooden pallets into functional wheelchairs and sparking a global conversation about mobility as a tool of freedom, not just medical equipment. With over 40 years of lived experience and a passion for innovation, Erik is proving that creativity and independence matter more than costly designs. His vision? Accessible, locally repairable wheelchairs that put power back into the hands of users. We had an interesting chat with Erik and learned so much, one of which is: “Mobility isn’t about luxury; it’s about possibilities.” Ready to rethink what wheelchairs can be? Visit our website at www.participant.life for an exciting read into Erik’s journey, and personality. Sometimes good intentions miss the mark!😅 In honor of World Kindness Day, our team members with disabilities Olamide Ewejobi, Illiassou Issoufou Abdoul Hayyou, Stephanie Douglas Akpentomun, David Munya, CPA, and Bruno Feldmann are here to share a few helpful dos and don’ts for interacting with persons with disabilities. While your goodwill is appreciated, not every ‘kind’ gesture is as helpful as it seems. Watch this video, and let’s learn together how to show kindness in ways that truly matter.💙 #WorldKindnessDay #DisabilityAwareness #DisabilityInclusion #ParticipantAssistiveProducts #InclusionMatters
